I am very torn here; the Kindle Fire really interests me for two reasons: 1. The form factor is absolutely perfect (picked up the 8.9" Nook HD in stores - same form factor), and 2. You cannot watch your Amazon purchased instant video content an the Nexus 10 (and 2.5 - the things that I have purchased, and looking to purchase do not exist in the Google Play ecosystem).

The Nexus 10 is such a beast spec wise, and with it running pure Android 4.2, it would be a great all purpose productivity machine in addition to content consumption. As I said, I am torn. If Amazon would just release a video player app for Android, it would completely clear up my indecision, lol.

Plus form factor. For me, 7" is too small but 10" is too big. I'm really stoked about the 8.9" Fire HD (and the Nook 9" HD+). For my tablet, I'm really all about content more than apps. So I'm going for one of these. If the Nexus came in somewhere between 8 and 9 inches, i'd be all over it!

I still have a problem understanding why a 4G radio costs an extra $200. I'm sure it has something to do with subsidizing the data plan, but that still seems a bit steep. The iPad mini is a $130 premium for the cellular model which still seems too much. But if you look at the Nexus 7 with HSPA, it's only $50 more than the WiFi version. I smell a conspiracy.

While the play store does contain content (TV, Movies, Books, etc), the Google experience is still App Centric (get apps to play TV, movies, etc). The Kindle is content centric. There is no home screen of apps, there is a home screen of content. Two completely different ways of doing it. I honestly believe that if you are only looking for a great "content" based experience, especially if you have Amazon Prime, then the Kindle is the way to go.

However, if you are planning on using apps heavily, with a side of content, then Nexus is good for you. Like I said, if it were for my mom to access content, I would give her a kindle as she doesn't really care about apps that much. I know this cause I bought her the original Asus Transformer and while she loves it, I think she would get more use of a Kindle, even though they have access to the same basic content.

Oh, how I would love to have a Nexus 9...or a Nexus 8.9...or a Nexus 8. Heck, I would even take a Nexus 7.7.

Basically, I just find the N7's screen just a TAD too small for extended gaming or productivity, especially with the onscreen buttons and the status bar up top hogging so much space. I played with a Nook Tablet 8.9 the other day and I find that to be about the ideal tablet size and formfactor. Large enough to be useful but not too large to impede portability.

I also would not mind seeing widespread support in Android for 1440x900 and 1600x900 screens, as those are nice in-between sizes (tablets desperately need more than 720p and 1080p is overkill for now, especially on a phone or phablet).

Actually, it's more content centric, where as android is more app centric. So if you are more into books, movies, TV, etc, then the Kindle might be more your speed. Yes all those offerings are Amazon offered, but I wouldn't expect it to be anything less.

For instance, if I were to buy a tablet today for my mom, I might buy the Kindle over the Nexus ones just because I know she could care less about "apps" per say.
