Disney’s Official Wreck-it Ralph Game Goes Up on Google Play for $0.99

Disney’s Wreck-it Ralph has landed on Google Play for $0.99, and much like the movie, it features a few different games inside the one app. There are three different games to be exact – some that pay homage to the older arcade-style titles that the movie is based on, and then another that features more futuristic 3D graphics and shoot-em-up gameplay.

I have not seen the movie yet, but it actually looks pretty cute. Feel free to let me know how you liked it, but please, no spoilers.

  • I’ve seen it twice, possibly going back for a third time. I love the humor and animation, and especially the game references!

  • DontBeConfused

The movie was great. Good video game references if you’re paying attention. Since it’s Disney Animation, and not Pixar, the movie has a more “learn about yourself” angle.

I saw a commercial for it on Disney today watching with my 4 year old, they only advertised the apple store. My daughter goes “I want that” and I go no sorry….. we can’t get that. Guess so. 🙂

Screw Disney…they are going to destroy Star Wars.

They just got an oscar awarded screen writer to write the script for SWVII, he sounds pretty good. Hope they can get John Williams to do all the music.

    • so i take it you haven’t seen ep 1-3 yet?

      • LiterofCola

1-3 weren’t as bad as all the fanboys are making them out to be. Sure it had bad writing and acting, but so did the originals and we all loved those.

Of course I have. But now that Disney is at the helm, Star Wars is even more doomed. They are DOOOOOOMED I tell ya!

Also, Darth Maul still kicks ass….(spoiler alert)…he shouldn’t have died! Damnit. WHY, OBI, WHY?!?!?

This app is FREE on the iPhone App Store

i loved WIR. lots of nostalgia for us older people, but the music was great, good story (not totally predictable), good action, and had its touching moments. it really shows how Dan Lasseter’s influence is making all disney cartoons more pixar-like which is great in my book!

I have always said that Pixar has felt more like what Walt would be making today than what Disney has done recently. Wreck It Ralph felt very Pixar to me, and in turn felt very true to what Disney should be. Also, as someone who grew up spending every weekend in an arcade with his father from the time he was in diapers till all the good local arcades dried up… this was a movie I really REALLY connected with.

      I hate you.

Kids loved it, I enjoyed it too for a kids movie.

    Ralph dies…

The movie had its jokes. I liked it. 🙂

  • vonbane

The movie was good, lots of references for people who have been gaming for the past 20-30 years. Kind of hoped there were more, but definitely geared toward the Disney crowd. I don’t have kids but my wife and I enjoyed it.

    • Agreed – I’d recommend it. The middle dragged a little for me as the “Disney” of it started to show through more, but overall it was enjoyable and well-done. Outside of Skyfall, I’m not sure there’s anything else out right now I’d go to see.

  • Butters619

The movie is really good. Not going to lie though, at the end you are going to have to do the “look at the ceiling so you don’t tear” trick.

  • Khammy

The game is quite good. It’s like a cross between Crazy Climber and Donkey Kong.

    • DonSerrot

From the moment I saw the first trailer I thought to myself that this was a game they HAD to make. And they HAD to make it in 8-bit. Soon as I saw the app I had to have it, and I was pleased with what I got. I’d have dropped the 99c for Fix it Felix Jr alone, but two more games (and a “coming soon” fourth game) are more than welcome sights. Though those others are gonna probably get neglected a bit, cause I gotta fix it!

      • I seriously couldn’t believe there wasn’t a flood of video games launched on release day for the movie. It felt like a missed opportunity.

the more disney the better…i want more ‘name brand’ kids apps on my android devices
