Now that our jealous attitude towards LeBron James’ special edition, engraved Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has died down a bit, he’s returned to show us exactly what he has been up to with his new phone. Think haircuts, taking pictures of beautiful ocean views, hitting up a food truck, receiving texts from Magic Johnson, chatting with old coaches, watching dunk videos on YouTube, snapping pics of his new $300 Nikes, and of course, documenting the night that he is to receive his first ever NBA championship ring (which is tonight).

  Thats what the reviews say… The battery is huge. And they say it does great even with a screen that big.

Samsung has it figured out. Marketing to the masses is all about making a product “cool” just as much as it is functionality. What is going to make a teenager ask for the Note 2 for Christmas? LeBron has one that’s why. I like the Moto commercials but I don’t feel like they have the popular appear Samsung has.

Think of the great commercials that made apple succeed, 1984, the dancing shadow iPod. These didn’t show product functionality but made the product look fun to use!

  I would even take your point a step further and argue that a product doesn’t have to be functional as long as its cool. Look at the original iPhone… It lacked a LOT of the functionality that most phones had at the time. But it was cool so everyone wanted one.

      I saw Jordan play in the 90′s with the bulls. Jordan could Fly! Seriously, Jordan could jump from before the free through line and fly to and above the rim. If Jordan ever did the triple jump in the olympics he would probably be the world record holder till this day.
