Sprint Making Moves, Launches 4G LTE in Chicago Suburbs and More

Trying ever so hard to stick true to their word, and keep up with Big Red and AT&T, Sprint has flipped the switch for about 5 additional 4G LTE markets this morning. Folks residing in the suburbs of Chicago; Lake Wichita, Texas,  New Bedford/River Falls, Massachusetts; and Hutchinson and McPherson, Kansas are able to hop onto Sprint’s 4G LTE, which should give them very much improved data speeds.

Sprint details that 115 more markets should go live in the coming months, fingers crossed that Portland and its surrounding areas are on that list.

Tim, your profile says you’re in San Francisco, but above you’re hoping for Portland LTE. Are you now in Portlandia?

    CHI CITY yea buddy!!

Sprint is always playing catch and never seems to actually make it. Bad management precipitates the poor service. They way it’s going Sprint will probably be bought out buy a bigger carrier.

I don’t know how people can stand Sprint’s lack of coverage. Panama City, FL – Terrible, Fort Worth, TX – Terrible, Elizabethtown, KY – Terrible, Amherst, NY – Terrible. Everywhere I need to travel Sprint either has no service or is on the edge. Verizon is rock solid in the same locations. I just got off a support call in Arlington, TX where a Sprint hotspot keeps switching between 4G and 3G causing disconnects every couple minutes…had to disable 4G in it…I’ve used my VZW hotspot in that same location with flawless 4G.

    really? your 4GLTEpicture is crooked.

I really hope the deal between Sprint and Softbank goes through and that Softbank will bring Sprint back up to competition with the bigger carriers… I’m tired of all this advertised 4G garbage that I’m paying for and not getting.

Um… TIM… The Press Release doesn’t say “River Falls” because that’s wrong… The Verge says River Falls… and it’s wrong too. It’s FALL RIVER>

Anyway… Sprint… No one cares about Fall River … Bring that LTE To Boston!

Boston already has LTE from Sprint. So does the vast part of eastern MA…

    • zackcarbon

Sprint has already launched LTE in Boston, even if they’re not saying it’s live. Mostly everywhere I’ve been in Massachusetts has LTE service. Both my S3 and my boyfriend’s GNex are always lit up with LTE, hell, even Lynn has LTE. >_>

      • Good_Ole_Pinocchio

Looking at my phone now… with LTE on in the heart of Boston… I see no LTE.

          same here.

rofl@ Lynn. I stayed in a condemned old middle school there once in Beverly. That was a fun time.

Too little too late, Sprint. I’m out.

  • TheWenger

Go Sprint go. You have one year until my contract with VZW is up.

Just need some NYC lovin’ and I’m right there with ya

Lol, I came to say this. I’m on Verizon and have 14 months left on my line and about 18 months left on my wifes. I’m hoping Sprint has decent LTE coverage around then so I can move to them. I’m still going to see if I can con Verizon into letting me re-up with unlimited data though (doubt it, but worth a shot) just because their network and service has been excellent in the 7-8 years I’ve had them.

      • TheWenger

My wife’s already on Sprint. I bailed in December for the G-Nex.VZW LTE is sweet, but I hate supporting them as a company.

14 months for me, St.Louis MO should be happening soon since they’re hittin everything surround and outwards from KC HQ.
