Hold the phone everyone!!! I got mine from the Verizon store on the 18th and it died TWO DAYS LATER! Verizon replaced the phone that day and that one died THE VERY SAME DAY! They obviously have not worked all the problems out. Cancel your orders if you can!

Google “BofA wireless additup” and it’s the first link. Also, you can get $20 back with USAA–The cash back isn’t as good, but I ditched my BofA consumer account years ago because everything else is far better.

You add a line to your existing plan to get the phone at the subsidized price. You then swap that line to any old basic phone you have, or buy something cheap (hell, we have old busted phones at the shop that we just give away to customers),swap the new phone to your unlimited line, and then either ride the new line out for 24 months at $10 a month, or (little insider trick here), ride it for 6 months, and your ETF will drop from a smartphone ETF ($350) down to a basic ETF ($100), then cancel the line.

This results in paying around $400 for the phone instead of $700, and kinda allows you to “finance” $240 of it….and you keep unlimited data. I actually have a line on my account that is there now for no other purpose but to use as a dummy “upgrade” line, allowing me to keep my unlimited.

I have 3 lines, 2 smart phones and 1 basic. All up for an upgrade. I have unlimited data on smart phone 1, how can I work it so I can keep unlimited data, and get the phone on subsidized price?

I’m pretty sure you can add a line with amazon and pull that off… I did it last year (not to keep unlimited data, but rather to get a new phone when I didn’t have an upgrade available on my line) it should work for you too, since it’s basically the same principal… give it a shot! It’s worth a try if you can save $100… makes it ever sweeter knowing you’re saving that $100 from verizon’s greedy paws
