But in the UK they are also taxed heavily on all imports and also pay a hefty sales tax. I think they average, over all, paying about 30% taxes on everything they buy.

So my Wife is a Chrome Specialist at a Best Buy for Google. They just learned of a program change today. Google sent new shirts and badges out that dropped the Chrome logo making them Google Specialist. Changing the program to include Android phones and tablets. Also changing the store sites setup in the next few weeks.

I am thinking this is going to coincide with the Apple iPad mini event next week. They figure Apple is going to have 16gb and 32gb varieties, so they better match their offering with what will more than likely be a lower price point. The 8gb will go away, no way they can sell it for 99 bucks in the current configuration since they are already selling it at cost, and 8gb does not cost $100.

My personal guess is the 8GB becomes the rumored $99 tablet, the 16GB become $199 and the 32GB becomes the $249…

But now you have to wait and see if they release a 64GB Nexus 7, or a new tablet of its size but with a better processor etc.

This is actually somewhat interesting, as much as we have heard about the 16 and 32 GB variants we have yet to hear how the pricing of the 8 GB model will be affected.

The Samsung Tab 2 7″ has a couple of extra features that the Nexus 7 doesn’t have but sadly it also only has a dual core CPU and a non HD screen.
