Zagat is BS since Google got them. They rely on user reviews only now. I used to own a restaurant, and received an ‘approved’ sticker without any rating on their site. They told me as much when I asked why I couldn’t find the rating.

Eventually zagat probably will be fully integrated in to places. It is already being used in Google maps. But it may not be beneficial to get rid of zagat at all. Theres a reason why they bought them. They were yelp before the internet was even invented and many restaurants prominently display zagat rated stickers on their windows. These are typically nicer restaurants than your run of the mills tastee goodie chinese food. Zagat’s name carries weight and one that google qill likely flout

Not all places are zagat rated and zagat carries a much higher clout than yelp if you’re spending more than $10 a plate

Yelp is really nice, but I’ve been reading that business are paying people to give them positive feedback on yelp now. Big Business sucks
