Manta is a Samsung Nexus tablet, not Motorola. I held one myself this weekend. Nexus is a Google thing, so the code-names are for Nexus devices, not specific hardware manufacturers.

I held Manta in my hands this weekend. It’s a Samsung Nexus tablet at about 10″ – stereo speakers on the front… Really nice.

Can’t one just hack their build.prop and get those perceived stats from Antutu since it just gets that info directly out of there…?

I’mma hack mine to reflect Android 5.0.0 then start browsing all over droid-life so they’ll start reporting a GS3 running Key Lime Pie was sighted…

If the carrier works for you, it’s the best one to have. I ended up on Verizon long ago because Cingular didn’t have coverage in my neighborhood.

VZW owns the Droid branding (licensed from LucasArts) – Motorola has used it on their phones and so has HTC… I presume with VZW’s blessing.

Now that T-Mobile is acquiring Metro PCS, doesn’t that make US Cellular #5? I wouldn’t call them part of the “Big 5″, but they do offer the SGSIII. Maybe I am crazy, but I don’t mind. I want a Moto Nexus RAZR. Does Verizon own the RAZR brand, or just the Droid part?

Is there any chance of Nexus devices becoming available for all carriers? And I don’t just mean the top 4. I’m with US Cellular and am fairly happy with my service. And I’m grandfathered into a 5GB plan, which seems generous by today’s standards.

guys as much as I hate buying into speculation/rumors/hearsay, whole name scheme for these devices here is HIGHLY indicative of motorola… It is entirely possibly that these are devices which are months away from release, but that could mean verizon gets not one, but multiple nexus devices! LG will go to ATT first, and I’m guess HTC goes to big red, with the moto handset coming in february.

Who knows?
