Flight Simulator X-Plane 9 Now Free on Google Play, Get Ready for Take Off

One of the most popular flight simulators on Android, X-Plane 9, has been given the “okay” from tower to take off on Google Play for the new price of free. That’s right, free! Originally priced at $2.99, the developers have re-priced the application and downloads are soaring. Naturally.

With the ability to choose from countless aircrafts such as the smaller Cessna planes to the F-22 Raptor (via IAP), your choice of locations, and a million other things, it really is a fantastic simulator.

Go grab it and get your wings, pilot.

    PATENT TROLL

Uniloc, a patent troll, is suing Laminar Research, the creator of X-Plane 9, as well Mojang, the creators of Minecraft, and also Gameloft, Halfbrick Studios, Madfinger Games, Polarbit and Square Enix.

The creator of X-Plane 9 relies solely on what he makes from the game to support he and his family. Please read his short story here http://www.x-plane.com/x-world/lawsuit/

Help in stopping a patent troll from what Uniloc is calling a “Billion dollar industry.” The total cost to defend against Uniloc is estimated at $1,500,000. The financial issues involved with this lawsuit are preventing him from financially secure enough to have a second child.

Please join the fight with me to help stop Uniloc, who has contributed nothing to the tech industry, from suing all the true inventors out of business.

Is this another one of those games that puts annoying ad crap on your notification bar like the last few “free” games?

    • Cody Thomas

      Nope.

Wow, this app heated up my Rezound’s battery in no time flat. Beautiful FS though

Hmm, a free app recommended by my fellow droid-life brethren, why the heck not. Downloaded.

My first time playing this game, tried to land, crashed and burned. Was great fun though. haha Need much more practice!

hope its better than the f-18 flight simulator that is free, carrier landings are a bitch on that game, and don’t even try it in the dark. I hope it has the Joint Strike Fighter with harrier mode, that would be amazing too

  • Michael_NM

When I bought this app it was 9.99. I thought it was a great deal at that price. Free is freakin’ sweet!

    • Brent Cooper

I did too! However I believe this is why it is now free and without a license checker.
