Screw you carries, very soon my a**. It’s now two months later and you still haven’t set a release date. Seriously, 4.2 will be out before the carriers even release 4.1 because of all the crap ware they install.

Or all of you can stop being cheap and buy Nexus from Google Play store – factory SIM unlocked, no contract to extend, no branding, no useless carrier bloatware AND – guess what? Updates directly from Google, completely bypassing carriers. T-Mobile always gets annoyed when I call for something because they ask every time before helping me (billing, plans, etc) what phone I have because network is not picking it up. I tell them I have Nexus and they go – oh well that phone can’t work on our network….!?!?!? Really? Because I get 8mbps downloads with it on your network I got 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 same day they were released by Google. Galaxy S3 costs $300 with 2 year contract – Nexus costs $350 no contract, no BS.

Because they see it as nothing but an expense for them…if they didn’t do it – it’d just be more money for them to keep. There’s getting to be more pressure for them to do these, but they don’t want to cause its all about the money.

Eh, I kind of disagree. I’d rather know a new OS update is available from Google, then I can have an idea how long it takes Samsung and Verizon to tweak it to their content.

Likely be the last? Verizon will have it released a full 6 months behind everyone else. If Sprint’s and AT&T’s coverage was not so bad around here I would jump ship.

Thanks for the info…That’s a big difference price wise. I’m interested in Claro because I have a simcard from them that I use every time I go to D.R. I’m surprised that Orange got some 4G before Claro….For what I have seen Claro works almost every where in the country.

CM10 is stock with additional tweaks. Trebuchet basically emulates stock. A launcher is what TouchWiz is. PS Jellybean (CM10) is running like a champ! There are still a few bugs, but can easily be used as a daily driver.

Good to know, thank you! I was also wondering, is my understanding of this correct?: CM10, in general, emulates stock Android as much as possible, with the exception of added features and functionality. A custom ROM is a version of Android that is in some ways different from stock Android but also bypasses the original OS that comes with the phone. Lastly, a launcher is like a “skin” that runs on top of whatever ROM or OS that you are currently using. Thanks for correcting me if I’m misunderstanding something.
