Nexus 7 Toolkits Designed for Mac Appear, Makes Flashing a Little Bit Easier

I can speak from personal experience here in saying that flashing and rooting Android devices is always a little bit tricky for Mac users. The majority of instructions found on XDA or RootzWiki are written for Windows users, and most toolkits are as well. Today however, things have gotten a bit easier for owners of Macs and Nexus 7s.

These toolkits are a bit light on the features so far, but you can root/unroot, unlock/relock the bootloader and install ClockworkMod Recovery with these scripts. A fantastic start and it will sure to be welcome from Mac users. Head over to XDA at the link below for downloads and a place to leave feedback if you need to.

Now that Apple won the trial and $1B.and wipe Android of the map, we shall all have to enter the stuffy Church of Apple and unfold our prayer mat, sing praise to Steve with our a*shole in the air.
Not me. I’m sending Samsung my church money to help a little and from now on I will have to cross the street everytime I see an Appleite walk down the sidewalk carrying an iPhone as if it was a bible. Second thought, I’ll stay on this side of the street and trip the trip the starry-eyed moron. I hate religion of any kind.

So people who would spend way too much on overpriced hardware would buy a N7 even though it’s not a status symbol?

friends don’t let friends use toolkits. It’s a nexus.

  • root4life

Where can I find that wallpaper

  • nightscout13

There is only 1 good thing about Macs: Aluminum body construction.

    • ceejw

Theres also the touch pads, the keyboards, the battery life, the displays, thunderbolt support ,etc.

      • Al form Roke

Wait, I can agree with the touchpads (probably the best on the market), but the keyboards aren’t in any way special, nor is the battery life or the displays (with the exception of the ‘retina’ screens… which are definetly impressive, but not really useful as far as I am concerned (and thus in no way ‘good’))

    Man, screw apple. Lol.

  • Stevedub40

That’s because Macs suck! Sorry for the empty comment, I just have a lot of hate towards apple these days :P

      Agreed.

    • feztheforeigner

I hate Macs and Apple independently. I think the Mac is a horrible product and that Apple is a horrible company.

I don’t think the Mac sucks because Apple is such an evil company, I just don’t think it offers a very good feature-price ratio…

Anyone remember that Boot Animation for the Nexus 7 that was different than the red, green, blue, and yellow Boot Animation? Where can I get it for my GNEX?

Screw Apple users. Let them wallow in their own iOS filth.

    • Dain Laguna

except macs dont use ios….so i say screw mindless fanboys, regardless of what camp they’re in.

      • znewman

I agree, it’s not so much about the OS it’s about mindless fanboyism. There are pretentious idiots in all camps.

      • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

Sorry, should have clarified. Screw Apple. I hate that company.

    Silly Mac users!
Finally replacing your pads with something more intellectually absorbent!

    • root4life

      • znewman

I have a Mac, a PC, a Galaxy Nexus, a Nexus 7, and an iPad 2. Enthusiast in all realms.

        • lamenting

Macbook Air (work), Galaxy Nexus, PC (home), The New iPad™ user here..

          • root4life

same setup minus the iPad. nexus 7 is on its way

          • lamenting

Had one (actually 2) with screen lift problems. Returned both. Will be waiting a few months to make sure they fix the issue and if rumors of it getting a new IPS display come true.

          • root4life

hopefully mine won’t have that problem. a new ups display would be great . i am also hoping for a white nexus 10

  • http://twitter.com/JasonAGrier Jason A. Grier

From the dev: “I haven’t tried it because I do not own a Nexus 7….but I have made a
Mac Toolkit for Galaxy Nexus and it works flawlessly. People have
already downloaded this and they haven’t complained so i’m assuming that
    nothing is wrong.”

Stuff like this always makes me nervous… but I’ll keep my eye on it! thanks Eric!
