Yea, I emailed the FC devs a little while ago and they said that it was a problem with FC reauthenticating with facebook. So essentially FC acts stupid because the facebook API sucks.

I agree with the statement, however…

As a developer, I’ll tell you that being platform agnostic is a nightmare. The differences in compilers, languages and frameworks is staggering and would add additional weeks (if not months) to the development process. I typically code in four to five different languages (depending on the app I am working on) and I can tell you from experience, it gets overwhelming.

Plus, you have to take into account that it’s not just two mobile OS’s. More like seven to ten different platforms to code to. Granted, Android and iOS claim the lion’s share of the market, there’s still Windows, Blackberry, Meego, Symbian, feature phones (which are typically just Brew), etc etc etc.

I find that usually the double status issue is due to FB having issues in general. Just this morning, I was sending triple comments in the browser. I decided to get on FC and had the same issue there.

Given that FC is really just a veneer over FB’s horrible API, I can’t really point the finger at FC for the problems.

I foresee Facebook going along the lines of Twitter soon and just shutting all the 3rd party developers out eventually.

Yeah, but you have to take into account that Facebook is in direct competition with Google (specifically G+). While I agree with you that they should be looking at themselves as a social networking leader and really focus on being platform agnostic, the truth of the matter is that they are going to always lean heavily toward iOS as they have a common enemy in Google.

Yup. I really have no desire to ‘follow’ or interact with people I’ve never met before on social media sites. I get enough of that from forums and blogs. I still use FB because I KNOW the people. I don’t have people listed as friends whom I’ve never met. I’m not into that. That’s my extent of social media.

Except FaceCrook owns everything you put on their site, like pics vids, what ever you say becomes the intellectual property of facebook. Also their hidden cookies they put on your pc’s that track every website you go to. F-Facebook
