Well… they include the proprietary hardware driver support for their respective devices… So… if you wanted to compile a rom from aosp you could now use these updated binaries so that all the hardware would be compatible instead of figuring out a workaround

How are the screen colors? I got mines replaced for bad radios, then I got 2 replaced for “ugly screens”
I had 2 units that had the yellowish screens.

If you don’t like the one they send you, then you call and tell them it’s no good and to send another. They don’t care. If you STILL can’t find one better than your phone somehow, just send the new ones back and keep your old phone. They don’t care what they get back, so long as it is the same number of nexus phones they sent out.
