I disagree, but it's one of those things that comes down to use. If you're trying to replace your laptop, 10" is really the way to go. the TF series comes close, but isn't quite there; and I think that's the big problem with tablet sales right now. I think for the types of things 99% of the people will be doing on a tablet (with the big exception being Netflix).

I have a feeling the MS Slate (Pro Edition) is really going to take off. I've found Android very lacking in the productivity space because it's trying to compete directly with the iPad. Professionals that I've seen using the iPad (in a hospital setting) always bitch about the 2 point touch limitation of the iPad. I've recommended Android, but the media has painted Android as a cheap copy and they aren't interested.

Slate offers something Android or iOS doesn't. The Smart cases have the built in keyboard and track pad, and it can run x86 apps. OneNote with it's full handwriting recognition is going to be a HUGE plus. Sure, I can write with a stylus that side of a magic marker on Android, but I've yet to see any decent recognition of the handwriting. It's not effective for note taking. Slate will offer this, and I see Slate digging into iOS and Android 10" sales pretty hard.

I think the N7 is going to hurt a lot of 10" tablet sales. They really have to show some compelling reasons to spend $200+ more. The extra 3" isn't going to do it for most I would guess, especially if it's just for recreation and not a work device.

To be fair the Note presents a different use case than most 10" tablets with it's S-Pen and all.

It kinda floats my boat but I am still set on the Surface Pro for this job. 7" is the perfect tablet, in the more tablet tradition of content consumption, for me though since all I do is read. Just waiting on the N7's teething problems for now since I'd have to import it anyway.

Because of the SoC.. It uses Exynos 4412 which supports a max resolution of WXGA. If you wanted a Full HD or WQXGA ( 2560 x 1600 ) display, we need a better GPU (like Mali T604 in Exynos 5250). Also it would be hard to drive such a high density display with low memory bandwidth. That's why new iPad and the Exynos 5 has a higher memory bandwidth compared to other SOCs. We have to wait for mass production of Exynos 5 before we can have a higher density display from Samsung in Tab/Note lineup. Exynos 5 is in "customer sample" phase now.
