Video: Nexus Q Hacked to Play Pong

YouTube Preview Image

Developers are really starting to push out the goods for the Nexus Q lately. The newest development stage for the orb is to turn it into a fully functional Pong controller. That’s right, folks. Good ‘ol Pong.

Update: As many have voiced, the game is called Brick Breaker in the video. But with no bricks, my mind went straight to Pong.

Any guesses on what other groundbreaking advances we can expect from the Q in the future?

actually it is (single player) pong. brick was made by Steve Wozniak in a challenge from Steve Jobs to make a single player pong game

Apple patented pong last week. Lawsuit.

incorrect. They patented the volume + and – buttons. Lawsuit for any company that produces phones…

Most expensive game of brick breaker ever.

I think when pong came out in the 1970′s it was $300 too

Hopefully DLNA. Otherwise it’s an overpriced ROKU.

    $299 = Pong

$299=One of the many things my Google TV can do that the Q can’t for 1/3 the price!

Actually, its 40. Pacman would be more around 30.

Pong? C’mon, that’s obviously a WIP of Breakout! Jeez, learn your video game history!

….I mean, it does say Brick Breaker as the app title…

But there are no bricks! Just an ever present opponent on the other end of the table. Pong lol

      • Droidzilla

I see no opponent; just the top of the screen with no bricks. Breakout for sure. Respect the classics, man!

        • http://www.droid-life.com/ Tim-o-tato

The top of the screen is the opponent :P

I agree, this is not pong. It is breakout/brick breaker. My guess is that they’re going to add the bricks eventually. The paddle and ball is just an alpha version.
