I’m running a 6.0.0 beta of CWM Touch made for the GNex and that is one of the things that comes in 6.0.0. If you can find it on his G+ page, he mentioned this. I can also verify that it backs up MUCH faster.

same here. i noticed that when u rename them u get an error and it wont restore something with md5 not matching up. u have to change it back to the time stamp and then it will work

That’s the great thing about Android and its openness… options. You stick with your simplicity, and I’ll go with more options and flexibility. To each their own.

I agree fully. I respect the man, and without him Android development likely would be no where near what it is today.

At the same time though, TWRP is smoother, has more options, and is in general more up-to-date than CWM. They even added a software keyboard and the ability to rename backups in the latest TWRP.

If i had a do over, I would have went the Rom Toolbox and not ROM Manager Prem route. It’s little things like, touch recovery being extra when it’s a free D/L and XOOM never getting an official touch recovery from him. I mean Xoom is probably going to be supported for another 6 month to a year and that recovery is only at 4.x.x.x? But what do I know, I’m only a customer..

Wow. Yep…I just put the new version from yesterday on & holy santa clause shi t. you’re right. took 3min to do a backup. i turned off md5 checking tho & compression isn’t enabled by default, where as i think it is enabled on CWMR. THx

Koush is the man, I remember when I got into Android with the OG, just remembering how easy is was and it is to flash stuff with Rom Manager, now it has the touch feature, it makes flashing so easy.
