If your phone is ever acting extra whacky and you can’t seem to figure out the cause, you may want to try booting into Safe Mode for a bit, an option included in Jelly Bean (Android 4.1). When entering Safe Mode, your phone disables all third party apps, leaving only system apps behind.

To enter safe mode, simply press and hold your Power button as you normally would to turn your phone off. When you are prompted to either Power off, toggle Airplane mode, or adjust volumes, long press on “Power off” until you see the Safe Mode menu appear. Press “OK” and boot into Safe Mode.

Cheers Tony and @P3droid!
