Don't take too much stock in what a Verizon "tech" says. They often know less than their customers. I'm sure there will be plenty of JB ROMs available long before the GS3 gets JB (hint, there's already at least 1 available for the VZW G-Nex).

Well...consider this. Do you have a GSM version of the Galaxy Nexus? If not then Verizon is still going to take months to get Jelly Bean pushed out to the CDMA Galaxy Nexus.

If you are comfortable rooting your phone and installing ROMs, then I would say that keeping your Verizon Galaxy Nexus would be the best thing to do to get Jelly Bean the fastest.

I'm not cancelling my pre-order for the S III from Verizon. I will have to probably wait a few more weeks till after the Gnex gets Jelly Bean, but I'm going to root and install a ROM on my phone on day one anyway. So as soon as someone gets Jelly Bean to the S III, I will be there. This does mean that I would be sacrificing all of the cool things that Samsung has laid on top of Android, like the feature that watches your eyes and keeps the screen on. I would gladly give up all of Samsungs tweaks for Jelly Bean features though.

Well....those are GSM unlocked phones. The Verizon CDMA version is not controlled directly by Google as everyone has seen with the delay in getting the last update to the Nexus on Verizon as compared to when Google released the update for the GSM unlocked version.

Your gonna be able to get it very quickly if you root your phone and load a custom ROM. Your gonna have to wait a while if your waiting on Verizon to deliver it.

Verizon really destroyed the whole idea of the Nexus line. A sad shame.
