Tuesday Poll: First Non-Nexus Device to Get Jelly Bean Will Be?

Now that Jelly Bean is official, we have to ask – which will be the first non-Nexus device to receive it? The DROID RAZR is receiving Ice Cream Sandwich this week, the Rezound should get it within the next few weeks, a handful of others have been on it for a bit, and too many are still without it. Will it be a tablet? Maybe the Transformer Prime? What about the Galaxy S3 which is launching across the world with ICS? Will we see a quick turn around from Motorola on the RAZR? Place your bets in the comments.

  • gadgetryan

It would blow everyone’s mind if it was the thunderbolt!!! LOL!!

  • Asus Transformer Pad Infinity. And I will one up you and say no more than two months after it releases at worst.

  • Sith77
  • Sith77

Sadly Verizon doesn’t care about updating the hardware . They just get excited cause a new OS update means another way to install MORE blot ware . I DO NOT like vznavigator or vast music or Verizon video or let’s golf 2 or let’s not forget the bankrupt company of blockbuster . Come on really , I been trying to post on Verizon’s website message boards and have had 13 messages deleted . If I even mention that we were promised ICS in early 2012 or that htc had the link on their website or anything the messages get deleted . Fu Verizon

  • kshitij

it could probably be a asus tablets !

  • Matthew Merrick

    asus transformer pad infinity.

  • cole hartman

  • Tony Allen

Can’t wait til they drop source and I can get a solid build for my VZW GNex.

I wonder if the Linaro guys will be working with this, to make JB even faster.

  • Asus Transformer Pad Infinity.

ASUS is second to none when it comes to Android updates.

  • rvGraham

I think the Verizon Galaxy Nexus will be one of the *last* to get Jelly Bean as it really isn’t a Nexus device at all. Thanks Big Red

  • The LTE Galaxy Nexus

  • Ben Rice

    The Motorola Xoom

  • ButterMilk

    Original Droid Incredible

  • The last android device to get the Jelly Bean (officially?) The Verizon Galaxy Nexus.

  • I hope it’s the Xoom which is GED in the US.

  • HTC One X on T-Mobile.

  • EZE4

every phone will have jelly bean expect phones on Verizon. Boost, Metro & Cricket will have Jelly Bean before any Verizon phone including the Galaxy Nexus.

  • my money is on the xoom wifi

  • Common Sense

Definitely a tablet that is not tied to a carrier, probably ASUS.

  • moto xoom (wifi) then maybe the one x

  • Jarred Sutherland

I would imagine you are spot on, none of the manufacturers have a proven track record of anything like two major OS updates to their devices. Why would they start now?

    • Marikel

Because Google announced that every Android device will get 18 months of update support from now on

  • Rodys Gonzalez

If I mentally prepare to only see ICS on my RAZR;… I will save myself the stress and dissapointment of it….

  • RAZR hasn’t even fully gotten ICS yet, I don’t see JellyBean hitting it soon.

  • BigFonz

  • Uncle Paul Haargus

    the VERIZON Galaxy Nexus……

  • Andy R. Oid

G1 will probably be first IMO.

  • MarcusSchoen

Ok, the company to get Jelly Bean to the public (Besides the Nexus Program), will be Samsung. I’m not talking about releasing a new phone, I’m talking about updating. Samsung was first with ICS on the GS2, so why not be first with JB?

  • obviously the droid bionic

  • kaufkin

it will be a tie between the Raxor Max and the Galaxy NotaNexus from Verizon. Unless you count pete A, in which case it will be whatever phone he decides to work on first. 🙂

  • Tim Swann

seeing as the VZ version of the G-Nex isn’t a true Nexus device because VZ is in the way of allowing updates come once ready, I say the VZ G-Nex only because it will be the easiest to update from a software perspective. It might not be the first simply because big red loves to interfere though.

  • LiterofCola

I’ll go out on a limb and say that the S3 will, just because of the crazy marketing campaign that’s beginning for this device. I’m sure Samsung will want to make sure this phone has the latest and greatest.

  • Travis Stanley

Verizon Galaxy Nexus (With a custom ROM)

  • Malcolm James II

It will be a whole year before there are ten phones with Jelly Bean

  • citrusrocks

    Moto citrus, best phone ever.

  • Not the Droid 3.

  • markuz

Probably RAZR MAXXX or HTC One. GN LTE will get JB on 5/2013. Thanks to Big Evil Red.

  • Luke Grissom

Asus will be the first device overall definitely. As far as phones go, I think the GS3 will be one of the first non nexus to see 4.1. I know Samsung doesn’t have the best history for updates, but the fact that they will have sold so many units of this one model will make it easier and more valuable for them to update quickly. They don’t have to deal with multiple for factors and system changes. Pretty much the only difference will be between the Exynos quad core versions and the S4 US/LTE international versions. We’ll see.

  • Some stupid Samsung Device.

  • droidify

Transformer Infinity Pad followed by the Prime

  • cb2000a

    The Samsung Note in 2014

  • First NON-Nexus device to receive JB is upcoming Note2… That will come with 4.1 and all other existing devices will get JB on 2013 or 2014…

  • Emad Zia

    Moto Devour

  • Travis Stanley

    Verizon Galaxy Nexus…Lol

  • SeanBello

the GS2 and 3 just aren’t very developer friendly. they have hardware buttons on an OS that’s built to work better without them.

  • Kyocera Echo

    • Emad Zia

  • Pegleg

  • Chris

    Droid 3

  • Ambrosius

It will most likely go like this: Nexus devices, Asus Tabs, Moto RAZRs and Samsung SII/SIII…then HTC will release it for the Rezound/One Series about 30-45 days after Sammy and Moto.

  • If Samsung was smart they would bust their ass to deploy this to the Galaxy S3 ASAP and cause a near fatal blow to HTC who will likely release it on their next product. The community would see Samsung’s commitment to their product and the forums would be a buzzin’. The amount of free press Samsung would receive would be huge and invaluable. I know, personally, if Samsung were to do this and HTC didn’t, I wouldn’t even consider an HTC product next time. Currently, I am not considering anything but a Nexus.

    • Alix8821

AGREED! Sammy needs to keep their foot on the gas. The GSIII is so heavily pre-ordered that its caused delays!! Imagine the vast #s of pple that would also pre-order, or simply go get one, if it was first (Non-Nexus) device to get 4.1

I doubt it, my Tab 10.1 would still be 3.1 if I didn’t root, and my VZW G-Nex as well. BUT, the GS3 is universal, and shouldn’t be as complicated to update as previous versions

  • agalvin13

    asus transformer infinity tf700

  • EatUrCrap

On a related note, my Galaxy Nexus WILL be the first to get it right?

    • Travis Stanley

Not if it’s on Verizon…If on Verizon I suggest just flashing a custom ROM.

How about every phone the carriers sell should be guaranteed to get the latest update while I’m on my two year contract!!!

  • JulianZHuang

i will be using the new iphone and my Gnexus will become my backup phone when JB released. a win win for me

  • Ohai Thare

So now that we know jellybean is 4.1, it stands to reason that any device that’s currently running ICS, can and will get jellybean. Of course, I could be wrong. But, that’s what the dev community is all about.

  • Probably the Transformer Prime, second place goes to the international HTC One X.

  • Alix8821

You’d think the GSIII … ONE version, only differences are which carrier its on… No sliders, screen, processor changes. etc…. If Sammy wants to strive for Apple-esque control, they needa update ASAP. Keep their foot on the gas.

  • Sith77

Well I think it’s safe it certainly won’t be the rezound !!!!!! Bastards

  • Leo

Will be the Verizon Nexus 😀

  • shadowdude777

The tablets will likely get it first because they are not subjected to carrier intervention BS, which is the biggest cause of slow updates. So Transformer Prime/TF300/TF700 first, then Motorola Xoom, then Galaxy Tab 2, and so on.

Unofficially, it’ll likely just be the phone with the biggest dev community (Galaxy S3, most likely).

  • sml698

    OG it still needs love!!!

  • SmittyRay

VZW will not be the first

  • SmittyRay

Verizon will not be on the horizon…how in the hell one can expect JB to get a VZW first is ludacris with its history. I bet the mortgage and the bank that VZW will be the first. Carry on…

  • LordStickMax

this is easy. i bet the Moto Xoom gets it first.

    • LordStickMax

      US Wifi that is

  • Liderc

I don’t think any phone will get it that’s currently out for at least 4 months. I think we’ll see it in the public first on the Nexus tablet that’s being revealed tomorrow.

  • Dan

Bionic lucky to see it 4th quarter 2013. Have had every Motorola phone and this is the worse, in fact the last Motorola I will own. So locked up you can’t put anything on it!

  • patapongirl

The jelly-android picture cracks me up…

  • It’ll be a year from now that they come out with the Jelly Bean Update List, with half the devices that get ICS not on the list and the rest newer phones.

  • sahilm

An ASUS device. From what I remember, they were amazing about getting ICS updates out.

  • CHRIS42060

They will start out “projecting” 4th quarter 2012 I’m sure though.

  • AJA0

Through the community, I’d say the Galaxy S2/3

Through an official update probably the S3, or the Droid Razr. Moto is good with updates.

    • Glen

Yeah, it onle took 13 months for the. Original Droid 2 to receive official Gingerbread Update!

      • AJA0

Samsung is the worst. The only phone on Verizon they have that actually gets updated is the Nexus, and that’s solely because of Google.

  • SeanBello

he didn’t say “officially receive it” aokp will pump it out shortly after Goog releases the code. before 2013, I say September at the latest.

  • synplex

    NOkia 808!!

  • interstellarmind

Asus will hookup its Transformer tablets. THEN Samsung Galaxy SIII. Motorola and HTC will get on board by 2018.

  • seoword

Google TV will get it quick. big announcements coming for it.

  • Jason Naylor

I wish… I really wish that when Google finished an OS, they gave it to phone makers and carriers so they could collaborate and test, and THEN when at least the popular phones, or even tablets were ready to be updated, Google shows off the OS. Then Jelly Bean or Key Lime Pie or whatever would be ready to install as soon as the OS was announced/released because all of the supposed testing hard already occured.

    • Sounds great but large Corporations wouldn’t be interested in that. The logistics alone would be too difficult. We live in a land of world full of inept people. The smart ones are writing code and designing circuits, the rest are likely “managing” and “planning”. There are certainly a few exceptions to this but “business” grads aren’t usually very adept. And techies usually make poor managers.

  • Trevor

Definitely one of (if not all of) the Asus tablets. They are awesome at pushing out updates.

  • tyguy829

does the wifi xoom count? If that is counted as a nexus, then it will be the Asus tablet line

  • trumpet444

Sholes…..haha, no really, it probably wouldn’t even fit! (twss)

  • fijah

obviously the Nokia 3310 because it will out last every other phone and person on the planet DUH trolololol

  • sdny8

Asus first. HTC one first phone

  • Jack Balfour

    incredible 4g

  • AgustinRodriguez

    HTC One X.

  • Joel

    Verizon Galaxy Nexus, AaAaaaaaahahahahahhahahaha

  • None that we aforementioned .. GNote 2 !!

  • unique

    Razr HD

  • donebrasko

Verizon galaxy nexus will be the first non nexus phone to get it.

    • Jarred Sutherland

And that will be due to the dev community 😉

    • lonz77

I see what you did there 🙂

    • MainePhrame

      lol–youre right.

My guess is the Galaxy S III but on which carrier, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. In terms of Nexus phones, it would be nice to see a carrier like Verizon release JB on its Galaxy Nexus sooner than 6 months after JB is released. Wishful thinking.

  • IMNS

    Droid 3

  • havok

I put my life savings!!!($1)!!! on the OG droid

    • Ill go ahead and collect that now if you don’t mind

  • Nokia 808 pureview lmao

  • eddieonofre

    The Motorola Original Droid!!

  • fixxmyhead

Lol at people saying the razr that phone is done after ics

    • Bionic

I wouldnt be so fast to say that, the phone is a best seller.

  • Detonation

Probably a new device. Why upgrade an existing device when they can sell another new one first?

  • Droosh

My rooted phones with AOSP roms!

  • Where’s the actual poll? anyway… probably not the HTC One X as it’s not even running android 4.0.4 yet

  • frstsaxman

    The motorola Xoom

  • Knowing Motorola, there’s no chance of their current phones getting Jelly Bean.

    • Bionic

Google has owned them for a month now, give google a chance to get things how they want it and updates will happen much faster

      • That doesn’t mean they are Motorola. Sprint owns Virgin Mobile, and Virgin Mobile uses Sprint’s network entirely, does that mean you can bring a Sprint phone to Virgin Mobile? Nope. Not even a compatible CDMA phone. If Google was in control of device support at Motorola, the Droid 3 would be on the list of devices to get ICS. Google isn’t influencing Motorola’s decisions as of now. Maybe later. But the RAZR and RAZR MAXX are VERY late to the ICS party. You could blame Verizon…. except for the fact that the GSM version is just as late. Motorola doesn’t care. If they cared, they’d ensure timely updates for 2 years or 2-3 major Android updates. Something like that, and they would at least give us the tools we need to unlock device bootloaders after they decided that they don’t want to provide updates for it – nobody loses there. But no. This is why I refuse to buy Motorola phones. They don’t stand behind their products, they make very questionable decisions – those ugly pentile screens on the Atrix, Bionic, Droid 3/4, etc are unacceptable except on the RAZR and RAZR MAXX, but only because they’re AMOLED and use a different PenTile. The ONLY good decision they’ve made in the past 2 years is the decision to make a phone, with a built in battery, a MASSIVE battery, and not make it a brick. That’s innovation. We need the guys who thought of that to start making more decisions at Motorola.

  • jonny6pak

    Droid Eris

  • Cyber

Droid Razr, Samsung Galaxy S3 by 2013

  • Blowme

Exactly. Just observe history. V and A think firmware update every 2 years is enough. And V and A bitch slap google.

    • Cowboydroid

And Google bitch-slaps back by moving on to direct-to-consumer sales of devices.

  • Who wants to bet that the SGS3 gets JB before the Galaxy Nexus?

    • jonny6pak

If you limit it to the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus, then that’s a sucker bet. Everyone will have ICS and all us Verizon users will have to rely on the dev community for months before Verizon pushes anything out.

      • I agree completely different. I’m more than a little perturbed with Samsung and the way they handled this phone on the Verizon network.

  • g2gsr

I think a more interesting question would be: “How long will it take VZW to get Jelly Bean on the GNex?” 6 months, 8 months, 2 years, ….

  • baldypal

Is the Motorola Xoom considered nexus because its pure Google experience or not because nexus is not in the name?

  • siphyn

    I predict the Xoom wifi

  • matt

I sure hope its the razr, with the quick turn around for this though it seems Jelly Bean won’t be that huge of an update.

  • Radgatt

First non nexus phone will be whatever new Motorola phone comes out later this year

    • Bionic

      Razr HD

  • joshua weissman

Im thinking the galaxy S3 thats gonna be samsungs super device and they have gotten better at updating their phones. Now if only they would tone down touchwiz like moto did with theirs

  • r0lct

It’s such a let down when I see a poll article and then there’s no multiple choice.

  • bakdroid

  • Devices that are releasing with ics or lower: my money is on an asus tablet

  • Bharath Ramesh

Samsung Xperia Incredible Plus Z One

  • Bionic

Droid Razr HD because google owns moto now.

    • Eric

Yep…. I’m going with Bionic’s pick for the Razr HD.

    • Liderc

How many times does Google have to tell the public that they won’t favor Motorola over other companies before it sinks in?

      • Bionic

How many times is your dumb ass going to believe that?

        • Liderc

Since you’re an idiot, incapable of understanding business logic, I’ll play it out for you. Google shows favor for Motorola, Samsung and HTC get pissed off and start looking at removing google search, or chrome as their devices browsers.

  • Bionic

    Bionic , LOL

  • That android has severe scoliosis…

  • Anthony White

Transformer Pad Infinity! ASUS has such a quick turn around time! They are the fastest out of everyone!

  • psynpo

I just got a RAZR id love for it to be current with the operating sys

  • Android1997
  • Jwhap

Not sure what non nexus device will get it first but I am positive the Verizon Galaxy Nexus will be the last Nexus device to receive the update!

  • Stephen Peek

they’re gonna surprise everyone and release it for the thunderbolt first, just wait, that’s obviously why there’s been no ics leaks for it yet, totally take the android world by surprise

    • I knew I should’ve gotten the TBolt when I had the chance.. le sigh.

  • blue horseshoe loves…

    A Sony device.

  • Motorola Devour

  • Heartless12

I hate these talks of jelly bean I swear I do

  • HuskerHog

My old OG Droid. By the way, ICS on the RAZR MAXX is great.

  • Likely Asus, safe bet but here is a theory, perhaps there is a reason why Sony launched phones with GB this year…just saying….

  • Knlegend1

    Droid Razr lmao

  • Keii Graham

It won’t be a current phone, it’ll have to be a new one shipped with Jellybean. Something yet unannounced.

  • Shawn

    MY AT&T Galaxy Note ^_^ …….hopefully 0_O

  • Mchl496

    Transformer Prime and Infinity

  • bananatroll

razr will recieve it if were lucky by the end of next summer. If not then, it aint happening with these phones.

  • Not sure on what phone will be first. But I believe a few phones will receive it before the LTE GNEX.

  • droid209

i think the original 7″ galaxy tab because they haven’t updated mine since froyo

  • jjrudey

    Asus products in general.

  • nightscout13

Galaxy S3 because of the momentum it is carrying with sales, and because it is available on so many networks.

  • nightscout13

    OG Droid

  • Ryan C

Speaking from the standpoint of “Officially receiving Jellybean” and not as in a developer that creates a custom rom,
I agree with the majority of you… It’ll be an Asus Tablet for certain. They are about the best when it comes to actually getting around to updating devices, and not to mention their support.

  • Jermaine Keller

What’s the point. New year new phones with a promise of those phones having the latest and greatest and then the will announce “pretzel” the new android or whatever name they will call it. I am nit an apple fanboy but when they announce something it comes out soon after

  • The TF300/TF201/TF700 will all get it before any non-Nexus device.

  • in Q3 3013

    • 2013, 3013 whats the difference

  • TheKaz1969

whatever it is, I bet it won’t be on Verizon…

  • Bionic! I figure if I’m gonna be wrong I might as well go for broke

  • Destroythanet

ASUS doesn’t mess around with stupid skins. Like others have said, it’ll be one of their tablets.

  • Jigga_Z

    Anything Asus.

  • BrianLipp

Any (or ALL) Asus devices. They are on top of it

  • Thomas

    Hands down my Motorola StarTac

    • now that’s funny!

      I literally laughed out loud!

    • CopierITGuy

      Best voice-only phone EVER!!!

      • autoverse

HEY! My 3rd gen star tac was my first texting device.

I was texting before T9. 2002ish. My friends thought it was stupid and I was mostly talking one-way to them.

    • CoffeeExtremist

Ahh yes . . . Back in my StarTac days, I was often the only person in the group that could make and receive phone calls in some semi-dead service area. Later I discovered that the StarTac output power was specified at the highest end of the legal limit, more than most other phones. Man, I loved that phone. So sorry I broke it . . . . For sure, as CopierITGuy sez, “Best voice-only phone EVER!”

  • Pedro

    Wifi Xoom

  • Sillyolgramps

It definitely won’t be Motorola Razr or Maxx!

  • Ryan

    Galaxy S3

    • cardin

I doubt that, with remains Samsung’s history with late updates…I’m apprised the gs3 did not shop with gingerbread and a promise to have ics “soon”

    • CoffeeExtremist

Good luck with that . . . I’m awaiting delivery of my S3, but I doubt it will get Jelly Bean before 3rd quarter 2013.

  • RoadsterHD1

    ASUS tablet.

  • gokusimpson

Asus Padphone? Or is it “fone”?

    • kennedy myril

      its fone..

  • zepfloyd

First Non-Nexus phone to get JellyBean? The first one developers build a ROM for of course.

    • Steve Wojciechowski

      lol, my thoughts exactly

    Droid 1 – hahaha

  • gokusimpson

    At least summer 2013.

  • SD_Scott

    Clearly the Thunderbolt…

    • frankandsimple

wrong! clearly it’ll be one of the LG devices.

  • S2556

    galaxy S3 i wish

  • Ken

It will be coming to your phone…………soon.

    • LionStone

      …in the coming weeks! 🙂

    Xoom wifi… come on Moto!

    • RedPandaAlex

The wifi xoom is essentially a nexus device. That’s cheating

      • Xoom was my first thought too, tbh. It may be a Google Experience Device, but its technically not a Nexus (neither is the CDMA Nexus depending on who you talk to, but I digress)

  • Carol

Don’t care, waiting for ICS on RAZR maxx!

    • sgtguthrie

Why wait? Side load it… IT DOESN’T even require root 😉

      • PetaJ435

        Is there a link how?

      • autoverse

My brother kept soft bricking his phone sideloading it. Eventually it worked.

  • TimothyLMJR

    ASUS Transformer Prime/TF300

  • Im hoping it will be the S3 since I just pre ordered it with the last upgrade ever on my account.

    • Just don’t use subsidies…

      • Thats what I mean by the last upgrade I will buy a new phone eventually just will be holding on longer probably.

    • Glen

This would be the most popular move, of course. But do you think that the Jb upgrade could be pushed through all of the major carriers with the efficiency that Samsung’s heavy boot managed to display by forcing the phone through without major modifications? I would pleased if this happened, but would be very surprised if it became reality.

  • Futbolrunner

    Motorola Bionic! ..after 3 delays

  • Whatever the newest Asus transformer model is will be the first OFFICIAL non nexus device with it. But really once it hit’s AOSP it will be ported to many of the high end devices in a few weeks

  • enigmaco

Droid 3 they owe us for the p.o.s. they sold us that can’t be upgraded to ICS

    • BillDroid

      • enigmaco

I’m being hopeful dang it lol

    • The Droid 3 is just about as likely to receive it as a Motorola StarTac.

Fingers crossed the Razr twins and D4 will receive it, but by that time Key Lime Pie will already be out.

  • Asus transformer Prime

  • Thunderbolt.

    • CopierITGuy

Yeah, right after we see the ICS update for a late Christmas present, they’ll start promising that it will roll out 3rd Qtr 2013!

  • Asus anything

  • suicidesilence4444

You asked “what would be the first NON NEXUS phone to get jelly bean”, but then you took a guess at the s3? Lol

    • evltwn

don’t get what you’re LOL’ing about. The S3 is not a Nexus device.

    • DanKemple

why is that lol? S3 isn’t a nexus device, the galaxy nexus is a nexus device, but the galaxy s series are not

  • achaff86

  • rodney11ride

    definatley be GS3

  • Shawn

  • My guess is the non branded GNEX

  • something asus

  • Futbolrunner

    Asus Transformer Pad Infinity

  • an asus tablet

  • nsnsmj

    Maybe one of Asus’s devices.

  • A device that hasn’t been released yet most likely.

It’s all about the sales, not the customer.

  • blakjakdavy

A brand new non nexus device will get 4.1 long before any current device gets it OTA. And probably before the Verizon gnex.

  • vitriolix

    Asus Transformer Prime

    • CheeseMcGee

Agreed, Asus brand devices will be the first to get it.

      • DanKemple

Agree too, seems as much as Asus has some design flaws they still push sw out the fastest. And for that, we thank you Asus!

        • Npompei

Yep Asus anything. They are far and away quicker than every other mfg to update their device. Sadly I think it won’t happen officially for my TF101.

          • AnotherAndroidKid

I don’t think I agree with not for TF101. JB shouldn’t be that much of a departure from ICS. And you got that. Asus isn’t the type of company to not give it just to push new sales of newer products.

Just my 2 cents. But I agree asus will be first to push it around to older devices and look forward to JB on my TF201.

    • Dom Suppa

Yep this is my bet and hope, except it will probably be the infinity

    • kixofmyg0t

I honestly think it will be the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi. Its not a “Nexus” by name but is a developer device.

      • Mark Schwerm

They already announced that to be getting it in the first batch

  • Justin Frieberg

Hopefully it will be the Galaxy Tab 2….

  • ScottColeBCS

  • ScottColeBCS

    VZW devices will be first.

  • big tuna

    Droid Razr HD

  • NexusPhan69

A new phone (non-nexus) that has yet to be launched.

  • Mustang5Oh

    ^ This!

  • @Scottyfromga

Non-Nexus phones…..haha….like us Nexus Owners are gonna get 4.1 anytime soon.

  • Galaxy Nexus : )

  • You guys need to stop calling these a POLL when you don’t set one up…lol

But with that being said, I think the RAZR MAXX will probably be the first to get it.

Were both of your points jokes?

      Because I didn’t get the 2nd one.

    • Dom Suppa

      Ummmmmmm no.

    • rawson815

Ya dude for real maxx just got ics after 6 months of wait lol … wow and when the HD comes out moto will forget all about the maxx

    • Anyone who guessed a Motorola phone, has obviously never owned an Android phone from Motorola.

      • Big_EZ

Why? Motorola is as fast or faster than Samsung or HTC. The only phones that get updated faster are Nexus

        • lmao the Droid RAZR line just got updated and its supposedly their flagship line.

          • Big_EZ

Yep, not long after the Galaxy Nexus recieved 4.0.4.

  • Ross Spencer

    Xoom. Nuff said.

  • Michael Forte

Insert each manufacturer’s new phone here.

    • My brother had that phone…..

  • The first currently released device to get Jelly Bean will be the Transformer, but I have a feeling a company like Huawei will actually ship it on a new device before that. Just a guess.

  • Michael Schnider

    Motorola RAZR

    • No way, it will be a tablet, for sure. It will have to be pushed without a carrier involved.

      • Michael Schnider

Honestly right after I typed it…I thought 3 Android OS changes on 1 phone?? No way lol Prolly will be a tablet…

        • bengineered

Droid X originally came with Eclair and ended up on Gingerbread. It had Eclair about as long as the MAXX has had GB, so perhaps. Definitely not going to be first though, it’s JUST getting ICS.

  • the HTC One X

    Galaxy S III

  • Angryunibrow

    Galaxy S

    • Angryunibrow

      S3 I mean…oops

  • LTE Galaxy Nexus – Don’t tell me it’s a Nexus device and lie to me for a second time Google and Verizon.

    • DanKemple

They question said what NON Nexus device. Everyone would EXPECT (using term loosely because of the lack of a nexus update in 6 mo) the Gnex to get it first for phones.

    • jjrudey

If it wasn’t a Nexus device, it wouldn’t have Nexus branding. Also, there’s more than one LTE Galaxy Nexus.

      • kurttrail

It has the Nexus Branding, but has Verizon slowing up the updates.

It’s a Nexus in name only.

  • I would imagine a Motorola device since Google bought Motorola Mobility.

    • Samsonite Swanson

ICS hasn’t even cracked 10% deployment and we’re already breathlessly speculating on JB.

      • It’s not Google’s problem that most manufacturers employ just one person to update their entire phone/tablet portfolio…
