Samsung’s “The Next Big Thing is Here” Commercial for the Galaxy S3

YouTube Preview Image

We aren’t sure if this is the official Galaxy S3 TV spot that will run for the foreseeable future, but you have to admit that it does a pretty good job of highlighting both the phone and features. In the past, we have seen companies attempt to promote products without actually showing enough of the product, so this a step in the right direction.

If you missed our Galaxy S3 review, be sure to check it out.

for anyone who is wondering, the music used in this commercial is Kye Kye’s Broke Remix

  • Kellic

    THANK YOU! HOLY CRAP THANK YOU! I don’t need to see a secret agent trying to steal a device. I don’t need to see some chick riding a bike to try and sell something. ITS ABOUT THE DEVICE YOU IDIOTS! Knowing Samsung though its not going to put this on TV spots. ;_;

FINALLY marketers are figuring out what should have been figured out 3 years ago they need to show what the phone can do, not 30 seconds of a hot bitch sword fighting, then display the name of a phone for the last 2 seconds.. is it really that difficult?

  • Tweekex

Could of had better VO talent..

I’m getting one more phone with Verizon with an upgrade I currently have a Droid Razr and was going to wait a long time. Since Verizon dropped this Screw everyone plan on us I’m thinking of preordering the Galaxy S3, but I still have that part of me that is thinking of the stock experience. So should I go S3 or Gnex?

    • JazzoRenee

      S3 S3!!

  • Knlegend1

The only thing holding off on this phone is that its an iphone wannabe and its ugly. Why does it not use on screen buttons is beyond me. Other than that this thing really is a beast and Samsung will sale…..A LOT. With these apple commercials its hard not to want one.

    • JazzoRenee

IT’S NOT A IPHONE WANNABE being that this is the 3RD generation of the Galaxy,
Sit down have you even used an android device before?

      • Knlegend1

Why do you think Crapple started all these lawsuits. Galaxy S line is so similar to the iphone in design you would have to be blind not to see it. Just because its the 3rd generation means what? Have I ever used an android device? No I just like coming to this android site looking at android news and android updates.

I get it. This phone is the best at sharing pictures and information. ut it doesn’t really mention what else it does. So when I’m not sending pictures or files (which may be like once a month) what else can I do with this phone. this ad doesn’t explain that. Good phone but not a good ad

    • whachatlknboutwillis

That’s been android’s downfall from day 1. Crappy commercials.

    • JazzoRenee

What else do you do with a phone, ahhh make phone calls and text and what phone can’t do that? The point is to show WHAT ELES the phone can do, because at this point, if you are asking what the basic use of a phone is, you might not need a smartphone.

Good commercial. Finally showing the real life benefits of Android and S3. However, I never eeeever see these S3 commercials on TV. These spots that we, as android fans and people looking into smartphones, need to see on TV barely have a presents. Thus rendering it useless.

  • RoadsterHD1

When are you going to evaluate it as far as speed tests go. Quadrant STD, antutu, NenaMark2, Speedtest, Talk.

  • master94

Finally a ad done right. Samsung needs to play this commercial non stop on TV the way Apple does.

It’s defiantly better then their previous two. The voice on this one bugged me though..

  • Guest

That music feels like a generic tech demo >_>

    • Knlegend1

Well they are on the right track of trying to be like apple. The iphone is generic and so is this commercial.

  • mini-me

I’ll believe the next big thing is here when Verizon ships it to me. Damn ship dates keep getting push back. Nice commercial tho.

    • nightscout13

Only 1 recorded delay so far. And it was a 1 day delay.

I love this phone long time. Well, I probably wont get it. contract is up in November, bla bla bla… You know how that goes. So I’ll wait for the next next big thing. (frowny face)

Why the crap doesn’t stock ICS share photos via NFC?

    • r0lct

It’s like Google has ADHD (aka continuous beta syndrome). A new shinier feature comes along to develop and they never finish the one they were working on.

      • http://www.facebook.com/Pengwnmastr Mitchell Johnson

What are you talking about? This is all samsung. All of the new features are part of touchwiz.. not from google.

        • r0lct

That’s what I am saying. Google create Android Beam and didn’t bother making it feature rich. Then Samsung came along and built upon it with S Beam.

      • nightscout13

You’re right. All Google apps are half baked.

        • r0lct

I wouldn’t go that far. Certainly not all.

          • nightscout13

            92% baked

    • TheWenger

It’s because NFC is a quick proximity kind of connection and you can’t transfer lots of data very quickly. You would have to keep the phones close enough to maintain the connection to transfer the photos, which would probably kinda suck. Doing it over wifi does make sense the way Samsung did it.
Maybe an alternative to the wifi direct thing is if it sent the person the photo in a text or something instead.

      • http://profiles.google.com/adamtruelove Adam Truelove

Android Beam sends bigger files by handing the transfer over to bluetooth, Google said this when they unveiled ICS. They could have just done that.
