Galaxy SIII Gets New 30 Second TV Spot, Tugs at Your Heartstrings

Samsung is really pushing their new Galaxy SIII to the consumer and it’s all under the unified message of “Designed for Humans.” In the latest TV spot we see this put on display with Samsung showing you how their new phone can fit into your life rather than boasting about its specs and how new it is.

A wedding, a marriage proposal and even a night of reading a bedtime story are all included. All intimate times that Samsung wants to help you out with when using their S3. Sammy is looking to take over the nation with their plans to launch on all 4 major carriers and even some regional ones. Do you like their new marketing campaign?

FINALLY AFTER 3 FKING YEARS a manufacturer makes a commercial showing ONLY features of the phone… there should be no commercial other than showing features it dumbfounds me when I see a new Droid commercial showing some hot bitch with a sword for 30 seconds what the hell is that suppose to do.. if people knew what and how much you could do on android it would have surpassed iOS way sooner than it did

    Designed for Cylons.

  • MooleyBooleyTroll

I’m buying one of these piecers and reselling to extend my contract out.

  • bgeek1

As a long time IT guy I’ll never get past the logic of the designed for humans tagline.

    For Marketing Consistency
*There should have been someone at the wedding with the iPhone trying to take a picture saying “I’ve been Samsung’d again.”
*Then there should have been someone trying to send a video via email on his iPhone.”
*The little girl should have been playing with her iPhone.

Actually, I think I’m glad Samsung is going in a new direction. This does a good job of doing the “mushy” commercial that seems to be so popular these days (with Apple and Google both doing “mushy” commercials).

The Best Buy I went to yesterday to preorder my 32 gb White SIII said I was the 5th person to pre-order there. I was surprised they didnt have more pre-orders.
So if Verizon is sold out, try Best Buy.

    • Harbo99

I was told by verizon rep that since Best Buy is a 3rd party they can’t verify you pre-ordered the S3 and therefore can’t guarantee that you keep unlimited unless the phone comes in before the 28th. Anybody else get a definitive answer on this from someone at verizon?

  • Jake

I like the guy falling asleep as he holds his GSIII up with two fingers @0:20.

  • Jason Purp

    “Waits till you’re asleep…”

    Okay then.

    • AlexKCMO

“…then flashes images of creepy pink rabbits in front of purple backgrounds…”

      • Diablo81588

        Lol.

  • dan4patriots

“Designed for Humans.” – dumbest slogan ever

    • Jack

Dumb only to idiots who don’t actually think about what it means and why it was chosen.

  • sk3litor

Great now I have to pee. But man they can jump eh? Decent add but man I like this phone

  • Chris Hollenbeck

If this phone gets you married you will be paying a lot more than just a shared data plan…
I will switch to string and two cans first.

  • http://cocainemonster.deviantart.com/ Fun With Drugs

    This isn’t new.

  • FortitudineVincimus

“Designed for Humans”? Versus what? Apes? What a stupid tag-line. Has there ever been a phone designed for anything but humans?

Anyway… enough with the lame propaganda, just get the phone to me as I can do without all of the bullshizz

    • Ken Bosse

      Versus sheep?

    • Fattie McDoogles

LOL I was thinking the same thing. It really doesn’t roll of the tongue well either. Sounds so weird to say.

    • Facepalm

Yea. There’s a couple of them designed for idiots like you.

    • Adam

That’s the point. So many other brands focus on lame robots or spec wars that don’t help humans. These are designed for non humans.

Samsung wants to be different. They want to emphasize that their products are actually made with people in mind.

It’s not as “duh” as you think it is when so many other brands don’t do what Samsung does.

  • TheWenger

I’m not getting the S3, but I really hope it’s successful, for Android’s sake….and just to piss on Apple.

    • Steve Wojciechowski

Amen to that. Then they won’t have any excuses

I bet the Galaxy SIII pre orders are going through the roof today due to these upcoming data plans…

    • http://www.droid-life.com Kellex B

      They may be heh.

      • teng247

had to place my pre order for my wife and the rep told me that they are sold out but will still allow me to upgrade w/o affecting my unlimited

    • Scott Shuit

I put my pre-order in as soon as I read the news here at DL.

  • http://www.facebook.com/LuisElTiburon Luis Rojas

Screw it. I was going to wait for the Razr HD. But after the bomb Verizon dropped this morning im going to pre order today. Who has the best deal? I know if I buy from Verizon it will be almost $320 for the 32gb with the new upgrade fee and taxes.

    • Chips

Cost me $300 flat for a Blue 32GB.

  • http://twitter.com/AZX3RIC Nick Heckel

What’s with the marriage proposal? Is the chick quarantined?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=120701197 Daniel Sharpe

Yeah it’s Bird Flu. Might be an unwanted Samsung add-on.

      • http://www.youtube.com/kimirPORTALS kimir

        Birdware

    • LiterofCola

      I lol’d

    • Fattie McDoogles

LMAO agreed that is super weird looking. An airport sign or something would have helped.

    • Mario

      She’s being deported. . .

    • AlexKCMO

That sounds like a great marriage to me…

  • http://www.getintonursing.com/ Jon

Seems like this is a slightly different edit than the same commercial they showed at their press conference. This one is much less creepy and makes more sense. It’s good they are showing off the experience, rather than the specs.

And this is the first time I’ve heard the “Designed for humans” tagline sound warm and comforting rather than the weird and creepy way it came off during the press conference.

    • S2556

I completely agree all though I am still not a fan of the ads. However since I know my products I don’t rely on phone ads much (the last phone ad that actually influenced my purchase was OG droid)

    • Fatty Bunter

I don’t think Samsung is going to show off specs anymore, and I doubt anyone else will after 2013 rolls around. It all will kinda just be in the noise by then.
