I hear ya..im so spoiled with my current Rezound’s HD 720p LCD non matrix screen its hard to go back to anything..Hopefully Moto changes that with a LCD 2 screen and faithful battery like the Maxx..so what if there updates and bootloader are unpredictable, i want a fast, great battery, beautiful screen display and screen size to use the phone and enjoy it longer. Not to mention there build quality and radios and voice are top notch from Motorola.

My biggest concern is the GSIII is a Samsung phone and I am concerned about updates look at GNEX how long it took for 4.04 to get to it without root and it’s a Nexus phone which is supposed to get updated first because of no bloat. Will the GSIII get left behind like all other Samsung phones for example the Charge had awesome specs when released but was forgot about by Samsung and the developer community alike. I really like what I see in the GSIII but my main concern is Samsung’s history with updates and followups. Will it be left behind like he rest? Why does Samsung release awesome phones with lots of potential and just forget about them and move on to the next phone, lack of concern for the consumer.

That was a bad reference. The reason the RAZR fell in price so fast was because they released the RAZR MAXX 2 months later. It was the exact same phone with twice the battery for the same price. It literaly KILLED the market for the original RAZR. And to counter your argument the RAZR MAXX is still going for over $400 on Craigslist and more on Ebay almost 6 months after its release and after several price drops from Verizon.

Wouldn’t that mean it would be the opposite then? Verizon phones usually hold their value well BECAUSE you can’t use just any phone on their network. Their phones lose most of their value because they release another phone with similar or better stats not because of exclusivity.

Yea you aren’t going to find brand NEW devices for that price. The Razr Maxx and 4s are still $450-$500 in most markets as they approach 6 months old.

Why bother? Granted the 2 Gig RAM is nice but other than that the SGS II, GNex, Incredible LTE and a plethora of other phones from other carriers are all comparable. Unless you are due for an upgrade I don’t see the need to go gaga over this. Seeing that no matter what dual core you have stuffed in it it is still a dual core handset. Quad or bust!

No matter how you slice it you are losing. If you subsidize you are locked into a contract or have to pay an ETF to leave. Or you pay $700 for the right to leave when you want. Either way you can sell that device on Craigslist to recoup some of your loss but it will ALWAYS be a loss no matter how you slice it. Its like buying a car. No matter what you do you are losing money on it.

I just bought the 2 like 2 months ago. I know the 3 will be better but I really coudln’t wait for a new phone and I LOVE the 2. The 2 is plenty enough for me.

But conversely couldn’t you offer than in major cities (i.e New York, LA, DC, etc.) and still have a similar experience. Even if you offer slightly higher prices (200mbps for $50/mo) and still have the same thing? The raised price would offset the lower population density in American cities compared to Japanese cities.
