you were wrong, thank god i ended up going in the next day and upgrading to the nex and even with the data hiccups with 4g i am still extremely happy with the phone

But they are also cutting out 3g right moving everyone to 4g? As of next year they will be no new 3g devices 4g only so when you buy a new phone even purchasing at full price you will have to get 4g thus you will be placed on new tier and no more unlimited? Verizon sucks but I never lose signal or drop calls so im stuck!!

Your quote says it right there. “some” of the cost of the phone. Just common sense. Look at the $399 they charge for some devices out of the box, while they quote “retail” price at $650 for example. Google sells the G-Nex directly for $400 while Verizon says it’s retail price is $650 for the device?!?! There is no way that the cost of the extra RAM and an LTE chip is $250 dollars.

Also, they sell the subsidized iPhones for the same cost as flagship Android’s despite Apple always having a higher “retail” price for their flagship. This proves that they give a bigger subsidy for iPhones than Android’s even though they charge iPhone users the same price for data plans. This is a market advantage for Apple and as it proves that Verizon makes less profit (if any profit) on the iOS devices.

If you guys think Verizon will let you keep your unlimited data plan think again. My first phone with them back in 1998 had first incomming minute for free,unlimited EVENINGS( 7pm) and weekends for free,free long distance from my calling area. This too was taken away in time. I give it another 6 months if that. Watch Your Statments Closely! Verizon’s new toy LTE is all ready in the works to sell far better for them than FIOS! LTE Home Fusion is it’s name.

I will say this again. The service provider should not be selling the phone. VZ has a monopaly on where to buy the phones and how much the phones cost.
It is like Comcast forcing you to buy Comcast TVs or Comcast phone.

I think I’ll be keeping my galaxy nexus for a while i love Verizon don’t get me wrong but you said it best yes they are a business but the point is they are driving off old (but good) customers first upgrade charges and now this, I’ve almost had it with their shenanigans
