ugh, it’s up to $8.99.  i wish i saw this yesterday.

  • brando56894

Too bad they don’t support Linux or I’d get them.

  • CheeseMcGee

Paid $15 for Splashtop and it was worth it, but… I found Jump Desktop and it blows Splashtop away.  It only costs $5, and it has RDP or VPN options.  Bet of all, it recognizes right click, proper click and drag and the refresh rates are really smooth!

Novocaine hasn’t been used since the 1940s. Get with the times

A few weeks ago this was the free app of the day in the Amazon Appstore. This is why I keep the Amazon Appstore installed for good deals like Splashtop. Half price though isn’t bad at all.

Is the HD version available for the G Nex? I can’t find it in my play store app but the link above works for my browser.

  • dsignori

    Splashtop is awesome

  • Droiiddd

splashtop is garbage.  got it when it was free in the amazon store and it doesn’t work over data connection so whats the point?

    • snowblind64

Works great for me. Got it for $1.99 last night and it works great over both Wi-Fi and 3G/4G.

  • moelsen8

the regular splashtop remote desktop is on sale for $2 (down from $10) as well:

    • snowblind64

True. Got it last night. I’m glad I came across this at $2 because it’s a great app that I wouldn’t have tried at it’s full price.

      • moelsen8

if you don’t mind me asking, does the regular one work on all devices? (can’t use the THD, and the HD just keeps talking about honeycomb).  can you use it anywhere you can access the internet, or just on your home network?  and is it a two-way stream?

i’m not a “cloud” person, but wouldn’t mind having the ability to copy files to/from my laptop from anywhere..

After researching a little, looks like the regular version will work with anything, and the HD version is optimized for Tegra chipsets.  So us kids with Gnex’s wouldn’t make sense to get the HD version.  Unless we plan to get a tablet with a Tegra.  So the question is, HEY KELLEX!!?!  Is the upcoming Nexus tablet going to have a Tegra?  Or what???  Might have to buy this sucker just in case.

          • moelsen8

no, there are two HD versions.. one for the Tegra 3, and one for I have no idea.. Honeycomb tablets, if you go buy the market description.  the regular one looks like it’s built for phones, and it looks like it’s compatible with everything i have anyway.  but i was confused about the non-tegra HD version.. i really hate when apps do this.. can’t you just release one version.. or at the most, one regular version and one HD version.

I have the regular from Amazon and it seems fine for my GTab… What is the difference between that and the HD? Is HD worth the upgrade?

I have Splashtop from the free day on the Amazon Appstore, but it just crashes whenever I try to connect to a PC on my Gnex.  Anyone else successfully use it on 4.0.4?

    • http://www.hammertechnologies.net/ Chase Johnson

Works AWESOME from me (i too got it from Amazon). It works on my XP and W7 computers. Im on a Droid R2D2

    • http://twitter.com/DroidBricker Droid Bricker

Working here from my GNex AOKP.

    • snowblind64

Works great. I’m on the old 4.0.4 leak from a while back.

Edit: I should add that I got it from the Play Store last night. There may be updates that the Amazon store version doesn’t have yet. I’m on version 1.6.6.0 updated April 12th.

    • KleenDroid

Works fine for me also. I access multiple desktops no problem. I am running Patient Zero M1.

  • http://twitter.com/Chasemanhattan3 Chase Chick

I have the regular splashtop.  Got it through Amazon free app of the day.  Would it be worth it to get this HD version?  What are the differences? Also I have the GNex, and don’t yet have a tablet, but plan on getting one pretty soon!

    • snowblind64

I didn’t see a HD version, just regular SplashTop, when I searched the Play Store on my Gnex. I’m guessing the HD version is meant for tablets or perhaps Tegra devices.

So, does it really only work with Tegra 3? I have a Gnex (AOKP) I would want to use it on and an HP touchpad running newest CM…

    • ArrowCool

Are you running CM9 on your Touchpad?  Is is working well?  I tried the first Alpha a while ago, but went back to CM7 as there were still quite a few issues at the time.

      • http://twitter.com/jblaies Jason Blaies

Yeah, it works amazing! No reboots or crashes at all!

      • http://twitter.com/bboyairwreck Eric Chee

CM9 is incredibly stable now. Absolutely love it on my touchpad. it’s been so long since i remember cm7 haha

  • John Davids

Yeah, Teamviewer is way better than this app. Also, it is 100% free.

  • Nitemare15

I’m getting this. Done deal. I have a top tier gaming PC. This would be epic with Steam.

  • masterxchief

Teamviewer works good enough for me and its free.

    • http://twitter.com/wheineman Will Heineman

I am also faithful to TeamViewer! Having it on my iPad and Android devices for Free is huge. I do wish it were as good as Splashtop though. But for what I do with it, its just fine!

If you like to keep your computer sleeping, look into the app WOL Wake On Lan in the Play Store. You can use that to wake your PC from its slumber before connecting to it remotely!

      • OO7E

         Which WOL app? by MAFRO?

      • Blood

Does any of the two apps require you to be on the same wifi network or can you do it   from far away?

    • http://twitter.com/LiveInTheDream LitDreams

Was going to come here and say this. TeamViewer works just fine. If you’re desperate enough to do any of this:  “You can play your computer games on tablets with GamePad THD, stream music and video, and everything else you can do on your desktop” you really need to look into how you’re doing this cause music is easily streamed other ways and if you’re streaming video you’re just one step away from putting it on your device anyways.

    • Raven

Thanks, I had never heard of TeamViewer.  But, on the other hand what is $5 bucks.  So, I installed them both on my Transformer.  I will have to take them on a test drive later and see which I prefer.
