Snapdragon Introduces the One Charge Challenge, Show What You Can Do on One Charge and Win Some Awesome Prizes

Snapdragon has started a lovely campaign, showing that devices equipped with a Snapdragon processor are capable of delivering the best performance in the market, while still having unbeatable battery life. To show off the capabilities, they have released a video of a single device traveling some 36,000 miles on a single charge, all while taking videos and snapshots! We’re guessing they chose the overnight option while shipping it from city to city.

Along with all this, they have offered up Snapdragon powered devices to anyone with good video skills that can show off what their device can do on a single charge. You don’t have to travel around the world, but maybe you can take a weekend vacation, snap some photos and videos and win that way. For contest info and entry, follow the link below.

Don’t snapdragon devices generally have the WORST battery life? Case in point: every single HTC phone…

My DX CM7 can sit in deep sleep on cell standby for 20 hours on a charge. As long as nobody touches any buttons.

Dinc 2 — 37 hours with light to moderate use (more light than anything, it was a busy day lol) which included hundreds of emails, a few texts, 1 hour of phone calls, quite a bit of web time and standby. All on a standard battery, and because I forgot to charge it >.>

… so they took 2mins of video and let it sleep in a box for a couple days? I’m pretty sure my GNex would destroy that while playing Drawsomething on full brightness with LTE turned on and Pandora playing in the background.

    • Blood

lol and I thought I was the only one with drawsomething draining massive battery. It takes as much battery as the Netflix app.

  • GNEX(MOTOX)

wow.. umm bull much? srry but my gnex nor if i had the rezound would it get there and be able to do all that unless it had maybe an extended battery, everything not necessary turned off, and no backround tasks running.. srry.. but true.. and the vid was awesome! :)

make this be a lesson only use you phone for vids and turn off after your dun, with an extended battery

  • Droidzilla

The Droid RAZR Maxx looks at this like GSP looks at Olympic boxers. Basically, “Aww, isn’t that adorable.”

    *Cough* BS *Cough* haha

  • Michael Forte

Right, because every HTC phone has incredible battery life…or that could just be HTC always skimping on the battery.

My toothbrush won’t even hold a charge on a 2 hour flight..

You need to turn it off and take out the battery.

Quite recording videos with it while in transit.

I love how they say in the disclaimer that there was an extended battery that was used and the phone powered OFF between shipments. I bet a lot of phones are capable of the same thing. LOL,
