HTC Fireball to be Incredible 4G at Launch, LG Lucid 4G and Blue DROID RAZR Coming Too

How about a peak into the future as we end our week? According to sources of ours, Verizon’s next few phone releases will include the DROID Incredible 4G (formerly the HTC Fireball), the LG Lucid 4G, and another version of the DROID RAZR in blue of all colors.

With the Fireball switching to its retail name of “Incredible 4G,” it should be safe to say that the leaked HTC device we saw pictured a few weeks back is indeed the same device. With an Incredible-esque back plate and a Verizon 4G LTE logo on the boot screen, this is probably your next phone in the Incredible line. What we have to ask now is whether or not this phone will be as underwhelming at launch as it sounded back when it leaked. Previous rumors had it with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a Super AMOLED screen instead of Super LCD, 8MP rear camera, VGA front shooter, and Ice Cream Sandwich. I know that on paper those specs don’t look awful, but after seeing HTC announce the One XL for AT&T with a Snapdragon S4 clocked at 1.5GHz and a Super LCD2 display, they aren’t going to impress anyone. We’ll be crossing our fingers that those rumored specs were wrong and Verizon will surprise us with a similar device to the One series.

Our sources also confirmed to us that a new device by LG is coming called the Lucid 4G along with a blue DROID RAZR. No word on if the RAZR is a MAXX or not. The LG phone is likely the LG Cayman that we first reported a few weeks back and could be a mid-range 4G device since the Spectrum is their big dog for the first half of this year on Verizon.

Cheers ___!

I have the Thunderbolt and it’s falling apart on me. I want Verizon to come out with a game changer, I want innovation. I love HTC and I want to wait to upgrade till a phone with better specs than the Rezound is released, especially so my upgrade won’t be in vain. But I’m not sure I can wait because of all my problems with my Thunderbolt :/

  • musteatbrains

Any word on the Blue Razr?

  • Frenzi76

No one else have a Tbolt? Perfectly fine and never had issues with mine. Fast as sh[¶ and does everything I need for it to do.

  • And they will have a sideways RAZR Eye?

  • chris125

Cant wait to see how it performs and the final specs for it.

  • OhAaron

Please let it be the One X..

  • Droidliferocks

Thought Moto was not going to release as many phones this year.  Yet here comes another Razr.  What is up with that?

    • guest

It’s another color, not another phone…

  • GSAI

Lucid? Really? LG phones are unsellable.

  • blue razr ? what is this the rainbow coalition phone     lol

  • burntcookie90

That Inc4g FFC is of lower reso than the FFC on the Inc2… o.O

  • CORYK333

Wow, moto is going HAM with all these RAZR colorways. Not my cup of tea, but nothing wrong with choice if you dig moto. On that note…i cant believe i finally saw a VZW/MOTO commercial for a phone(RAZR MAXX) & there wasnt a goddamn ninja or a bad tron knockoff in it, they actually, GASP, showed off/promoted a selling point of the device(battery life) with, wait for it…..normal people!!!! Nice to see proper advertising for a few android phones lately. The robotic ‘ish was dope at first with the OG, but to say they went overkill after that would be an understatment.

  • thats very impressive

  • Owlcityhootowl

    • plasmagrenade11

You’re only on this site to troll. Please leave. You aren’t wanted

  • Whats with all these less then noteworthy phones VZW is releasing as off late. Att is getting the HTC one and the new windows phone. Unless they plan on getting the SG3 its not looking good for when my contract is up in 3 weeks.

    • banjoonmyknee

I’m starting to think that Sammy and HTC are playing hardball with Verizon and refusing to allow Verizon crapware on their top of the line phones.   I may have to reconsider my AT&T allergy.

  • Sp4rxx

I would go for blue – it sure is a heck of a lot better than PURPLE!!!

I mean, I’ve seen that across the board the majority of all phones either come in black white or red.  PINK on the rare occasion and in some Verizon Wireless’ Marketing Department, PURPLE …. but blue actually sounds kinda cool – like a metallic blue, maybe even Mazda 3 blue 😛

    • Ron Perlman’s Jaw

Yes! Mazda blue rocks. I do hope it’s close in color and in the Maxx.

  • TheUI

Rumor also has it that the Blue Razr doesn’t blend.

  • i love my rezound! imo i think its the best phone out on verizon lol. the only thing the nexus has is ics which i’ll be getting shortly. and also i did a quadrant test with my rezound and it smashed my friends nexus :[]

    • RadicalPie

      Cause quadrant is reliable

      • Don’t get mad just because my phone with sense on it smashed yours. they’re just phones. breathe in and out slowly.

  • Scottyb112

Just what we need, more RAZR’s in more colors yay!!! Taste the rainbow Motorola

  • Zippitydoodah!

I don’t care what the haters think. I’m looking forward to the Incredible 4G. Hell, I’d even consider the blue razr if it’s a Maxx. Keep saying the GNex is all that. Perhaps if you say it enough, it will come true.

    • HTC is Love!

I really wanted to get a GNex the issue I have with it is Samsung.  I love their TV’s, but I don’t know that I want a phone from them.  If you want a phone that will never get updates get the GNex, but I want something that will continue to be updated.  For that reasoning alone I’d probably get a Incredible 4G or Maxx.  I’ve had my original DInc since day one and gotten 2 OS updates, and all the little things.  I bet the GNex will get Android 5.0 but anything after that good luck.

      • Lolololololol

are you stupid? the GNex is a nexus device and the only phone with ice cream sandwich.  all of moto’s and htc’s phones arne’t going to get it for at least like 3 months so idk wtf you are talking about.  i don’t even have a GNex

        • he is no doubt referring to all the problems with the gnex, I have one so I know all about those short comings

        • banjoonmyknee

Root and unlock the bootloader and you can install ICS on a whole world of HTC phones including DInc 1 and and 2.   Not sure I can say the same for Moto who is unbelievably stingy about unlocking.

          • kixofmyg0t

I have ICS on my Droid 2 Global, Droid X, Bionic, Atrix and Xoom LTE. Only the last two are unlocked. The Atrix was the hardest, the X was the easiest.

            So much for your argument.

        • balthuszar

          1) your argument went out the window when you started namecalling
          2) the gnex has been updated what…4 or 5 times since launch?  that screams of quality…
i wouldnt want to have the first device to have a certain OS anymore than i would want the first model year of a car after a re-design

          • Marshall Taylor

Have they fixed the problems with dropped calls yet?

          • Jacob121791

            1) It has had 2 updates. 4.0.0 to 4.0.1 to 4.0.2 (4.0.3 AOSP is out and 4.0.4 was leaked)

            2) At least it gets bug fixes.  The bionic still has radio problems 6 months after it was released.

            3) Lolololololol’s argument is completely valid. Almost impossible to argue with actually.

I never get involved in these GNexus arguments because they normally aren’t worth it but if you are going to argue at least look some stuff up before you make a fool of yourself.

          • OhAaron

The Bionic actually doesn’t have radio problems anymore.  Last month, the .902 update finally made the phone a great device.  I think the Nexus is awesome, but it’s stupid to throw around statements like that, when you aren’t keeping up with the device you’re making claims about. That said, I’ll be getting the next Nexus device, as long as it isn’t made by Samsung.  I hate their build quality.

          • Jacob121791

I got the bionic day 1 when it came out. However I couldn’t take the radio issues of me living on the edge of 4g so I returned it. My father now has the bionic and even on .902 he still has a few issues but another compared to those of .593 ( I think…..). I agree that the Bionic is now a solid phone. But that wasn’t my argument.

My argument was that I enjoy the frequent updates my Nexus device gets. The updates fix problems that will inevitably be on these ground breaking devices such as the bionic and gnex. It is just a shame it took moto 5-6 months to fix the bionic and Google already has 4.0.4, which fixes the gnex radio issues, ready and just waiting for somebody (prolly stupid Verizon) to OK it.

          • OhAaron

I like updates too, and that’s why I probably won’t be getting another non-Nexus device: Unless Google keeps Moto in check.

          • balthuszar

you missed my point completely…i’d rather wait and get a device after all the kinks have been worked out of the operating system than be an early adopter and get all the bugs and kinks that need to be worked out…as far as the updates, 4.0.3 is out(you said so yourself) and 4.0.4 has been leaked(again, you said so yourself)…if the nexus was the almighty like so many make it out to be, it would have gotten 4.0.0 out of the box(like it did) and 4.0.1 wouldnt have arrived til 5-6 months later…

      • thedonxr

Never get updates on a Nexus lolololol….. You’ll also never find meat at a deli, or bread at a bakery…

      • banjoonmyknee

I don’t really worry about updates as I’ve generally always done my own anyway.  What I care about is that I can root the phone and install customized ROMs on it.  If I can do that, I can update my phone on my own timeline. HTC is pretty good about allow that.

Hell, I can run ICS on my HTC Incredible 1 if I really want to!

  • ddevito

I hope this phone does well. I still think HTC is the most dev/modder friendly device/software manufacturer there is. Period.

  • Mimsyborogove923

Well, if the Incredible 4 has that bomb looking new HTC camera, I feel like it would definitely be worth considering. Oh wait, except for the likely not big enough, non-removable battery, that would be a deal killer for me.

  • Dsdfgsdf

all HTC’s phones suck…..all the time without fail.

    • Nwd1911

Good argument, I was an HTC fan until reading your post.

      • jclokwork

      • balthuszar

i’m glad i wasnt the only on swayed by his argument…

      • lol, awesome, that made my day

    • Edwin M

So what is your phone of choice? I enjoy my Rezound very much by the way. I’m just curious about what you “rock”.

    • majorhunadadun

    • HTC is Love!

Personally I’d take a HTC over a Samsung any day!

    • HTC Rules

Dumb statement. My Incredible has not had 1 issue, is fast and I get 2 days out of a standard battery.

  • EC8CH

An under speced phone from HTC, and a RAZR of yet another color…

Ohhhhh Verizon…. don’t you ever stop bein’ you!

    • chris125

dual core with 1gb of ram isn’t really “under spec’d”

  • ApplesNAndroids

I just bought a razr to replace my gnex. I love the build quality ad radio strength. No ICS is its downside, along with blurr. Anybody looking for a gnex? Lol

    • hkklife

4.3″ screen is another downside, as is the lack of a 720p screen. Give me a MAXX with a 4.6″ 720p screen, a better camera and ICS and I’ll bite!

    • SergAZ

      I sure am! 🙂

    • Tim242

The radio on the Razr is not better. I had both at the same time. The Razr shows more bars, but the dBm is the same.

      • OhAaron

Bahaha, It seems like you’re everywhere these days.  I see your comments on Engadget all the time. 🙂  I like Motorola’s build quality a lot, and I hope that Google will choose a manufacturer that makes solid phones from here on out.  Samsung shows too much favoritism toward its own Galaxy line.

        • Tim242

I have to make my presence known at Engadget. Gotta keep those clowns in check : ). I’m loving my Nexus. Looking forward to the next one, as long as it’s not LG.

    • yarrellray

Another SHAMEFUL DROID RAZR POSTING. No way will any Droid Razr be better than the GALAXY NEXUS. Today the BEST DEVICE on Verizon is the GALAXY NEXUS..

      • ddevito

I agree, but everyone has their opinions.

      • You were more amusing when you were shilling for HTC’s on Sprint.

        • CORYK333

Ha!!! So u remember him Running around with a hard on for his EVO too?

      • Harryballs1234

Every time I see a nexus post it reminds me of a guy with a short Wang trying to tell me that 3″ is average…..

        • CORYK333

Regarding that last sentence, meet yarrellray…..but the real fun was when he was wanking off to his evo on android&me

      • squiddy20

Another SHAMEFUL RICHARD POSTING saying the usual BS about “my device is the best EVARRRR!” or “This device pimp/bitch slaps that device”, when in reality, it’s a matter of opinion, something you seem to have no concept of despite almost 2 whole years of my telling you otherwise. What’s even more sad is that you think whatever phone you own will be the best phone available for a whole year, and that’s really nothing more than a delusion. Amazing how you’ve been proven wrong time and time again for the past 2 years and you don’t seem to have gained one iota of intelligence or common sense.

  • Steve

waiting for droid razr “now with sprinkles”.

    • JuarezBernadette43622772

friend’s mother-in-law earned $19506 a month ago. she been w0rḱinġ on the internēt and movēd in a $5165O5 house. All she did Was get blessed and apply ṫhe advice explained on this wēb pagē..MakeCash2.com

    • musteatbrains

      lol seriously!

  • Nate Davidson

Droid = Awesome brand. Razr = recycled brand. I don’t understand why they are pouring so much money into it. It’s a Bionic with an Super AMOLED screen.

    • Q

probably because they spent a year developing the bionic.. probably want to get as much out of it as they can by basically dumping it into a bunch of different form factors.

      • ddevito

I’m labeled a Bionic/Moto hater (well, I am I guess), but has it ever occurred to anyone (not pointing at you) that maybe it took Motorola and Verizon SO long to release the Bionic because of LTE with Dual Core?

And perhaps since then Moto and Verizon have been able to churn out many phones since, perhaps because they learned all the ‘kinks’ and ‘tweaks’ by struggling with the Bionic??

        Just something to think about…

        • chris125

Except it is not really that many phones it is one phone in a bunch of different colors

        • Matt Hickman

i thought this was a very rational comment and deserved credit.

    • The RAZR line is hugely successful. IT’s a better way to establish a quality device than some “Moto Amaze 4G” name

  • Ror1997

I could rock a Blue Razr, But it has to me a MAXX

  • Joe Bertolino

I currently use the original Incredible, I’m due for an upgrade, I hope the rumored specs are false

  • Paul

    Damnit, Motorola.

  • Fvqu

blue droid razor will be better than than the razor max

  • Kinfolk248

OMG, just make a phone thats worth making to begin with and brand it. If you make it then stand behind it, dont make something and throw it over the fence then come back three months later trying to build on it…

All these new phones every two months is one HUGE downfall of android imo…only nexus and iphone seem to be doing this right!!!!!!!!!

    • TheOiulkj

Did you seriously just put nexus and iphone on the same level? You sir, are going to hell for that.

    • Leftlane

I really don’t see the downfall. I’m sure it’s there if you pay attention to these blogs and are hung up on having the latest device, but since devices don’t just brick themselves the minute new devices come out, I don’t see the problem.

    • balthuszar

shame shame on all the choices…oh that’s right…we’d be slaves to the fruit

  • fvqu

Why not blue razr maxx? and I hope the Incredible 4G is not droid branded.

    • sgtguthrie

The article just called it the “Droid Incredible 4G”…

      • r0lct

A Lot of people only read the tittle before commenting unfortunately.

  • GalaxynexusMAN

That DROID eye is the RAZR’s sideways, not the incredible 4g

  • moelsen8

and motorola continues bending over its customers….

    • guest

with a new color? you must be pretty damn shallow if it seems that way to you

      • kixofmyg0t

You have to realize that most of the Moto haters on this site think more than one phone released by Moto in a 2 year time span is too many. Moto released 4 phones all of last year for Verizon and people STILL bitch about it being too many.

They dont like choices. They think everyone should have a Galaxy Nexus and thats it. No other phone past present or future will ever be better to them.

        • moelsen8

No its more like if motorola cared they would have released all these super street fighter 2 editions of the razr at once. Every time they release another color or variation theyre burning people who already bought the phone and may have wanted a different color or bigger battery. Wouldnt you like to know about all of the variations up front before getting yourself into a 2-year contract? The Bionic/razr/razr maxx/razr maxx hd/razr developer edition/razr color editions fiasco pisses people off. Stop whining about the nexus. That has nothing to do with motorola burning their own customers.

          • guest

getting burned? how? 99% of phones are only available in black. The ones that come in more colors are ONLY ever available at least weeks after the first color goes on sale. No one got burned by colors that has ever payed attention, same goes for Bionic owners.

          • moelsen8

My argument is mainly with Motorola banging out all these phones in a row. Im sure there are a lot of razr owners who would have preferred a razr maxx. Just like a lot of bionic owners might want the razr. Colors are just icing on the cake.

          • guest

Way to stay on topic then…
And the Razr was spotted on blurrycam shots all over the internet well before the Bionic went on sale. If you didn’t wait and rushed out to buy a Bionic then it’s your fault. It wouldn’t make sense to promise the phone, develop iot, and then just not put it on sale.
You have a point when it comes to the Maxx but thats about it.

          • kixofmyg0t

I for one am not one bit jealous of the RAZR. I’d rather have a 2,880mAh battery than a Super AMOLED screen.

The RAZR MAXX yeah ok, I kinda want that but I’m still happy with my Bionic. RAZR’s in different colors mean nothing to me and if you were holding off getting a RAZR until they release a neon zebra print or w/e they have then more power to you.

If your pissed off that you bought a black phone and wanted a pink one….welcome to life. Get over it. Really dude, no one is burned or pissed off that Moto is releasing more colors. Only the haters who use this as anti-Moto ammo.

          • moelsen8

I understand your argument. But you gotta understand theres a reason people hate Motorola. You may not understand if its not you, and hate may be a strong word for it. I for one love their hardware, its my favorite hands down. But theyve really been competing with themselves lately when it comes to phones, and you might not care but to some people the bootloader stuff matters.

          • kixofmyg0t

Well according to the recent bootloader poll, even the majority of DL “G-Nex” owners didnt even unlock their own bootloader. So for a group that bitches about EVERY SINGLE MOTOROLA product to have their own damn bootloader locked on the “ZOMG TEH NFC!!!” Jesus phone is hilarious.

Locked bootloaders dont mean anything to 99% of people. Even the “hardcore” “UNLOCK ALL THE THINGS!” Nexus fans. Only a (very) small percentage care. With that being said I think we should have unlockable bootloaders. I mean it couldnt hurt anything so why not?

          • i thought the i*hone was the “Jesus Phone”

          • kixofmyg0t

It is. The “G-Nex” is the “ZOMG TEH NFC!!!! Jesus phone”.

          • kixofmyg0t

Btw where do I buy this “razr maxx hd” and “razr developer edition” you speak of?

I’m really interested in this “razr maxx hd” you speak of.

          • OhAaron
          • kixofmyg0t

Hmmm and what Verizon store sells that RIGHT NOW?

You people are bitching about phones that arnt even out yet. You people are f#cking pathetic.

          • OhAaron

I’m pretty sure Verizon will never sell it. I think it has to be purchased via the Moto Store. Secondly, why are you flaming? I simply gave him a link so he could read about the device! I have a Bionic and I like Motorola. Wtf?

          • moelsen8
          • kixofmyg0t

Wait you’re bringing products that Moto doesnt even sell in the US to this argument?

        • Guest

might be time to go back to math school slick!

          • kixofmyg0t

Really? Hmmm. Let’s see in 2011 Moto released the Droid X2, Droid 3, Bionic and RAZR on Verizon…..which one(s) did I miss?

        • OhAaron

Eeek, by your description, they sound like iPhone users.  I really hope that doesn’t happen to the Android community. 🙁

      • moelsen8

You must be new to Motorola.

  • watchthesky

Why more colors Moto? People can use a case if they want a different color!

    • JosephMoreno

a lot of people dont like cases

      • incrediblecub

and a lot of people do..

        • For moto phones I don’t see the need for a case, they’re so sturdy. But to each his own.

          • Liderc
          • kixofmyg0t

I would like to disagree. My Droid X has survived being dropped countless times, the last of which was into the oil soaked hull of a M1068 armored tracked vehicle. I fished it out, wiped it down and it still runs perfect to this day. Ive never had any phone I’ve ever owned in a case. They’re not needed for Motorola’s.

Just put CM9 on it tonight in fact.

          • Liderc

My bad, thought he said Razr, it’s been getting crushed when dropped. I agree Moto usually has great build quality.

        • Steven1883

I hate when manufacturers make different color phones. As a vzw rep people always want the color were out of! Lol

        • Stock

…so why not just cater to both? Getting new paint can’t be that difficult, and they’re only painting the plastic frame on the outside anyway.

        • JosephMoreno

and for those people theres cases in blue you can buy in a mall kiosk. then theres the phones in diferent colors for the rest of us.

  • df2rools

blue droid razr to the maxx HD!

  • The DInc2 didn’t have the best specs when it came out either, but that phone was ROCK SOLID and  very worthy of it’s budget pricing (I got one at Costco a couple months after launch for $29).

    • Edwin M

No one wanted the Rezound either and I ended up getting it on Black friday for 50 bucks and that has arguably the best specs (in my opinion) out of Verizon’s current crop.

      • balthuszar

my husband has the rezound…upgraded from the bionic…i have the razr…and i’m jealous…except for sense…i hate sense

        • Edwin M

Well yea, Sense is a little bloated but the pros for me outweigh the con of Sense. It’s not that bad if you unlock it, root it, then freeze the bloat. Runs way better.

        •  A rezound is not an upgrade from the Bionic

          • RezCommando

The facts say different. Vzw replaced my Bionic with a Resound, and it is better in everyway by miles. No data drops, infact best reception I’ve ever had on a Android phone. Far better screen, fantasticcamera, but factory unlocked and huge dev support. I’d argue its an upgrade from the Nexus, let alone a lowly Bionic.

Where are the Bionic devs? Nowhere. DT is gone and there are maybe two decent roms. Maybe 10 aweseome roms on the Rez with constant updates. The Bionic is a bug ridden orphan and a curse by Moto. The data is still not reliable. Bail while you still can.

          • Charging

Hahahahahahaha!! Most hilarious comment I’ve ever seen on DL. Ever. So many things wrong. Just wow.

          • chris125

no the razr replaced the bionic. Bionic=moto rezound=htc. Epic fail on your comment commando. smh

          • majorhunadadun

          • balthuszar

have you used the bionic? the rezound? seriously? a dumb phone would be an upgrade from the bionic…unless the latest bionic update fixed 99.9% of the problems with it

          • OhAaron

            It really did.

    • BSweetness

Well put.  For some reason, it appears that after the first one, HTC/Verizon decided the Incredible line should be a budget line.  If only all budget phones were as well made and functional as the Incredible 2.  The Incredible 4G should follow it up nicely for the intended audience.

    • Dirk Diggler

I would agree. However, the Rezound dropped down to a budget phone area. It makes no Sense to release a lower phone spec’d for the same price. The Rezound is just like the Incredible was in its time. Everyone should pick the Rezound, the Dinc3 as of now has nothing over the Rezound.

Wife got one last summer. Great phone for budgets and normal users.
The 4G is nice, but I don’t think Id go for it over a Rezound at current prices.

If it is not variation of the one x then it’s old news and not worth my money

  • JosephMoreno

    New LG phone?… uh no.

  • TheCheapGamer

    Still rather have the Rezound.

    • fvqu

The Incredible 4G will be better then the Rezound

      • sillyrabbittricks4kids

        are you not Rezounded?

    • Captain_Doug

This should have a slimmer form factor though. The Rezound is definitely a hefty boy. I’m hoping it’s processor is not as lame as it sounds though..

Some people like a phone that doesn’t compete in featherweight competitions.

        • Captain_Doug

It doesn’t have to be a featherweight but 160 grams is heavy. I guess thats my opinion but I feel that’s a bit heavy.

          • nwd1911

I agree with you, the only thing I would change about my Rezound is the thickness…when you put a case on it “hefty” is a good description.  I don’t mind the weight, but could use less girth (that’s what she said?)

your comment needs to be liked.. and done.

      • bjn714

The processor can be 1.2GHz all day long for all I care if it is Krait (S4)…

        • Captain_Doug

          Hear hear!

It’s good to see the DROID RAZR holding up the name of the original RAZR, in the fact that there were so many variations released (by variations in this case, I mean colors).

    • bjn714

And the re-use of the RAZR MAXX name, albeit with a different reason for the moniker…

      • RAZR FANN

A different, yet highly appropriate use nonetheless.
