Plizy Released For Android Tablets, Videos From All Over The Web In One Convenient Location

A new app called Plizy has launched on the Android Market. It reminds us of Pandora, if Pandora handled videos. You create channels of videos taken from around the web and they just play in random order. Create a channel for comedy and you will have College Humor, Ray William Johnson, Freddy W, and a ton of other fantastic streams to choose from.

There are many channel types ranging from News, Business and Sports. There’s something for everyone who enjoys searching the web for great videos. The app is free and has a marvelous interface. Real smooth and crisp. Be sure to check this one as soon as you get the chance.

Cheers Billy Bob!

Whats up with no Galaxy nexus support?

    • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

Hi Jerry, As I said below: “We’ve optimized Plizy for Android for Honeycomb and above because the app needs the Android layer 3. Unfortunately, we don’t have any plans to make it available to earlier Android OS versions. Sorry about that. Stay tuned though…this is only the beginning for us so you’ll get your chance yet to give Plizy a spin. ;)”

  • TomZ

Not compatible with anything I own. What’s so special about the way it operates, that it wouldn’t be compatible. It’s not a 3D game for cripes sake.

Hey TomZ, We’ve optimized Plizy for Android for Honeycomb and above because the app needs the Android layer 3. Unfortunately, we don’t have any plans to make it available to earlier Android OS versions. Sorry about that. Stay tuned though…this is only the beginning for us so you’ll get your chance yet to give Plizy a spin. ;)

not compatible with the galaxy nexus.  :(

    • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

It’s an Android thing. When you publish the app, you do so for small screens (phones) or large screens (tablets). Large screen phones like the Galaxy Nexus are a special case because it’s running Honeycomb but it’s officially in the former (phone) category. Oh look, yet another aggregate content app.. wow, that’s needed. meh

    • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

We like to think of it as being an app that does a lot more than aggregate because of the way we recommend content and enabled social networks like Twitter and Facebook. That’s where the Pandora comparison comes in a lot….

There are no reviews, and it needs to view logs to keep track of what I am doing? For a video app? I wonder how much you got paid to post this. Stay classy droid life.

    • Michael_NM

I hope they made a fortune. They deserve it. :-)

      • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

For the record, Michael_NM, we didn’t pay them but yes, they do deserve it. Bloggers work really bloody hard. :)

        • Madmaxq

and the log files are for?

    • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

I just checked and it has been reviewed 4 times (all 5 stars, w00t!) but, for some strange reason, the first review is repeated over 50 times! Obviously, we’re on it to get that cleaned up right now.

    • Madmaxq

I wondered about the Log files as well. Looks like a decent attempt to aggregate video so I’ll check back to see if there is any decent rationale for that.

      • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

Good question that I don’t have the answer to. I’ve asked my colleague so I’ll get back to you ASAP.

      • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

Hi Madmaxq, Plizy uses log files in the app to track technical issues and quickly react to remedy any problems. I understand your reservations about possible incursions to privacy and the fact that badly coded/malicious applications will use this to a means of getting password access. All I can offer is our assurance that our ONLY interest is to improve Plizy and make it better for our users. For the moment, log files are our only way of making sense of this as it’s our first turn on the Android platform. Like you, I’m very sensitive to issues of online privacy so I would never let this happen on my watch. — Jonathan Benassaya, Plizy CEO

Is there a Droid Life channel?

    • EC8CH

I’d be happy if I could just add Droid-Life to Pulse :-(

      • Michael_NM

+1 I’ve been using Google Reader with APW GReader as an alternative…

        • EC8CH

thanks for the tip, I’ve been trying to use Google Currents, but I just prefer Pulse too much (especially now because it matches ICS so nice).

          • Michael_NM

Currents is awesome, I just wish it was faster updating. I like Pulse too, but I think Taptu has better UI.

          • 1bad69z28

I like Google Currents too, but this app is awesome!!!  I just
downloaded it on my wifes Sony S and it pretty remarkable.  I think I’ll
be taking her tablet more often lol

          • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

            I really hope you’re talking about Plizy….;)

          • 1bad69z28

            Yes I am lol :)

          • http://twitter.com/onPlizy Plizy

Oh. YAY! So glad you like Plizy! :D If you have any feedback on what you like, hate or whatever – really eager to hear it. Let our community manager know: robin at plizy dot com or through our feedback portal: https://getsatisfaction.com/plizy

          • 1bad69z28

            Thanks :)

          • 1bad69z28

Both of these links work for adding Droid-Life to pulse:
        http://feeds.feedburner.com/DroidLife
        http://www.droid-life.com/category/news/

        • EC8CH

That’s both of those work, but it’s still not optimal the using the feedburner link doesn’t give full articles and the categories/news won’t give all the articles.  Wish there was a way to get all posts directly from Droid-Life.

          Thanks for the tip though.

Hey! You can make your own Droid Life channel by searching “Droid Life” in the market and adding it to your feeds. Super easy. :)
