Exactly. I was on a 1-year contract and I’ve been eligible to upgrade almost a year ago, but there’s no major reason to upgrade now. I really don’t need a dual-core phone. The Galaxy Nexus is very tempting, but at the end of the day, my experience isn’t going to change much from my DX.

I’m still rockin’ the DX. It was a beast when I bought it and I think motorola should keep it alive with updates. Im still locked into the update device date in January of 2013, but I still think this beast that started it all should be updated, please! I want to see ICS, I know it’s a processor issue, be it looks so good that they should recode something to get it to work.

I don’t ever deal with the stores. That is online. I call them for tech issues because they are usually more helpful than the retail employees that get yelled at all day by people who break their phones and want new ones for free.

Lucky….my verizon store says they don’t do that anymore, even though I was part of that plan initially. I’ve had my DX for almost three years now. It’s still going strong but I’d really like the GNex.

No, I’m not kidding. The GNexus is such an incredible upgrade over the DX, it’s almost not worth trying to argue over. I held out for about 4 months past my upgrade, and decided the GNexus was worth it. And it definitely was.

You hit it right on the head man. There is very few practical things a new phones can do, that the X doesn’t do. No, it’s not LTE, but that’s not a biggie to many.

I have two DX still, one is my main phone and one as a backup (not that I have needed it). My spare DX is running ICS from First Encounter and it rocks.
Anyways, glad to see Motorola and Verizon still supporting this and trying to fix some bugs. I have signed up, received the email early this morning.

Are YOU kidding?
Many DX owners still rock this phone and are holding out for something WORTH upgradding to.
Right now, a dual-core phone is hardly worth dropping this phone for.
Dual-core is so… “average” and not worth wasting an upgrade for.

I was supposed to have an upgrade after a year, but that disappeared somehow. They offered me and upgrade to the GNexus for an extra 40 bucks so I didn’t bother haggling. It was well spent.

Are you effing kidding me? Anyone who had this phone has upgraded by now. I got rid of mine and upgraded to the GNexus, and it was an excellent decision. The DX was intriguing when it was released, but it became an incredible PITA the last year, which I spent trying to find the best ROM for it.

I still get yearly upgrades from Verizon. Every 12 months to the day, my account shows eligible for an upgrade even though between 0-12 months it shows 20 months away.
