(Somewhat)Off-topic question: If I disable Sense on my stock(locked, Android 2.3.4) Rezound and put a different launcher on there, can I still use the Sense widgets i.e. Weather, Contact Grid, etc?

Yes, this is exactly what I mean. It is all personal preference, some people love the look and feel of the Razr, some love the G-Nex, and some love the Rezound. Just because I chose the Rezound over the others doesn’t mean that I think those who chose the Razr or the G-Nex were wrong. I just knew that I liked the Rezound much better. And things like these new ROMs are a great thing because it helps bring more of the Android community to the next level OS.

In your opinion. I happen to like the way Sense works, at least the Sense that is on the Rezound. I have no experience with Sense on other phones.

Actually I do believe that Verizon tells the manufacturers that they want the bootloaders locked. But I also believe that the manufacturers are staging a little rebellion by providing a way to unlock the bootloaders. They are after all selling the phones with a locked bootloader, and they are warning us that unlocking it will void the warranty. I believe that they are adhereing to the specifics of Verizons requirements, while allowing the consumers to choose what they want to do. Motorola just isn’t following their lead, sadly, even though they were the ones who seemed to promise that they would unlock their bootloaders even before we heard from the other manufacturers.

Well….all that plus it has a more solid build, the car dock has a built in charger, I personally think the screen is better, and don’t forget the free headphones that can’t be Beat at that price.

To be honest this is exactly what I was expecting and I think it’s a good thing. You can still clearly see Vanilla ICS underneath it just has a light skin over it.

You nexus trolls are the f@kin worst. You really must not be happy with your purchase if you have to hijack allllllllll the rezound blog posts and forum threads. One of the biggest reasons I chose the Nexus was it had a bigger more gorgeous screen and the lack of a single logo on the face. verizon doesn’t make phones. They sell service. And Samsung’s logo doesn’t belong on the face… logos should only go on the back.

I put my Rezound next to my Thunderbolt the week I had it, and I don’t know why, but during that week, the Rezound’s screen felt tiny. Even next to the Thunderbolt it looked smaller… Too tall and too narrow. Pretty awkward if you ask me.

the senseless “almost” completely AOSP version is on xda too, it is a REALLY good first attempt at ICS for the rezound AOSP style. There are a few bugs, but recently coming from the dx with firstencounter’s ICS it is as good if not better than that ROM. I’m
thoroughly impressed.
