Will the Real White Galaxy Nexus Please Stand Up?

As expected, the real white Galaxy Nexus is simply a white housing with a white back battery and not the fully white render of ours that the tech world spread seemingly everywhere yesterday. As someone that owns the white Nexus S, this is exactly how I envisioned the device to look, and man does it looks pretty. Samsung going with the all black front as to not disrupt the beautiful infinity look of that massive 4.65″ screen was a smart decision.

Pleeeeeeeeease tell me Verizon is going to get this…. otherwise I’m dismantling my plastic and giving my gnex at least SOME kind of custom job. Regardless of what color it is.

On a side note, I have a little project going on where I’m having a friend who’s a machinist recreate some of the plastic pieces on the back of the phone with aluminum ones so I can anodize them. I’ll let you know how it turns out, and if it even works.

Remember how the original iPhone had an aluminum back but the iPhone 3G was plastic?
There’s a good reason for this. Aluminum backing would significantly degrade signal quality. There has to be a plastic patch somewhere so as to not degrade signal. Basically don’t have your friend waste metal on a battery cover :p I know there’s an LTE antenna right above the battery. Not sure where the others are. Try it and let us know(:

Everything should be white, and the nexus s looks ridiculous with it’s black front and white back. it just looks cheap and half-baked IMHO.

if the back is white, then the front has to be white. Look at the iphone for instance (sorry) The white 3gs with a black front looks stupid, but the 4 both white looks better

Because it’s flashy and the inconsistency with the dark front is ugly. It can never be done “right” because a white screen/ui features is just impractical and destroys the beauty Google cultivated with ICS. Gray is simple, unobtrusive, dignified and reserved. A white phone is like a white car: there to make a scene and be noticed. Maybe you’re into that, but I’m not and neither are many of my Nexus brethren.

imo, black devices (phones, tablets, DS, PSP, etc) are always the best to get. When the device is off, the screen just blends in with the rest of the face and isnt a big black block sticking out ruining it. When its on, the black of the face disappears from your eye and you can focus entirely on the screen. Take a look around my room and all my devices (PSP, 3DS, DSi, OG Droid, even my laptop) are black. Its also usually the first color that any device is released in, so i get it in that anyway

what does it matter if you put a case on it. Mine is desert camo …but you can’ t see it because i have a case on it….
