Yes…this implies that they are *not* counting wifi-only devices.

its really a nice tablet for the price with cm7 on it, and ics port is almost there. I put up with the amazon junk for a bout 2 hours. But i think the amazon ui is nice enough for the non tech savvy.

Andy Rubin only announces Mobile Phones activated on mobile networks. The 3.7 million does not account for Kindle Fire, Nook, Acer Tablets & WiFi only versions of tablets like the Xoom & Galaxy Tab. Also a Verizon tab that is not activated on the network and is only used as WiFi such as my own does not count in Rubin’s figures. Basically android made a huge killing this weekend. Developers like myself are very happy.

kindle fires don’t sync with the android market, so maybe they are left out of that number.

Interesting because Amazon has been selling boatloads of those things. My father-in-law has one, good for the general public looking for a simple device that can connect to a ton of content, but the fact it locks you into the Amazon ecosystem and shuts you out of Google makes it a no-go for me.
