Show Off Your Home Screens Day!

With the holidays quickly coming to an end and with many of you picking up new devices as presents, there are probably plenty of big beautiful home screens out there that are in dire need of makeovers. And also, since the Galaxy Nexus hit and this on-screen button thing is throwing some of us for a loop, we need inspiration from the greatest Android community on the planet. And to get that, it’s time for one of our now-famous “Show Off Your Home Screens!” posts. It has been a while since we put together one of these, so let’s see what kinds of masterpieces you have created over the last couple of months.

1.  For those with the Galaxy Nexus, you can take screenshots by press in Power and Volume Down at the same time and holding for 2-3 seconds.
2.  For those without a G-Nex, you can either screenshot in adb or root and use Screenshot ER.
3.  Once you have a screenshot, upload it to your favorite image hosting site and paste the URL that ends with the file name (.png, .jpg, .gif, etc.) into the comments and your image should be loaded for all to see.

And if you can’t get enough of Tato’s rainbow bacon, feel free to download it below:

  • After I had overclocked it (then CPU managed when I had no life expectancy in the battery at all!) – added a 3500mAh battery instead of the standard 1600mAh – Tasker was installed to automate all sorts of things (and add a few things I thought were missing) – Lite’ning ROM installed (and rooted) Launcher changed to Go rather than stock – I then turned my attention to my layouts… and here they are:

The first image is a screenshot of my homescreen – made up of one of the Lite’ning ROM wallpapers, HD pack icons for Tasker shortcuts, and a dark glass Go theme for the APP drawer highlighting
    Second is my utility screen
Third is how my APPs look
And finally there is my lockscreen

Can I change my icons without having a launcher?

    • Wasabii

desktop visualizer. Changes shortcut icon pictures without a launcher.

  • Wasabii

Guess I’m a minimalist. I don’t like different color logos in my launcher as well.

    •  so what we looking at? theme? clock?

      • Wasabii

And I use DesktopVisualizer to change application shortcut icons.
Modified this icon set myself to match ICS blue.

I really like the look of the stock launcher. So I really just needed a high res Deadmau5 wallpaper. And I made my own. You can see I’m not the greatest at photoshop, but I like it. That’s the soundprint or whatever it’s called of my favorite song in the middle.

First of all, WOW! some great screens quite inspiring. I have a question relating to home screens, does anyone know where to get the apk for the old ‘grass live wallpaper’ not the beautiful widget one, the other one, the one where it shows the grass and all changing with the time of day?
    Thanks again for inspiring me.
    Peace and happy new year!
