There are rumors of a firmware issue that won’t let the phone “sleep” properly. The fact that Android OS is eating so much of your battery suggests that you may be afflicted with this issue. Tap on “Android OS” and check your “keep awake” time. I used mine lightly today, 12h 25m off the charger with 42% of total battery remaining. Of what HAS been used,

screen has 40% of usage with 1h 18m on,
Android OS has 29% of usage with 59m of “CPU total” and 3h of “keep awake.”

The ratio of “screen on” to “keep awake” is about 1:2 which makes sense to me. Is your ratio way off of that? Has your screen been on much at all?

One of the recommendations I’ve seen is disabling Google+. If you use it, its obviously not an option. I disabled it last night and did not see a significant difference, but I was not suffering like you are. I’d be FLIPPING OUT with 5hrs of light usage killing my phone. I DO keep 4G and all other radios off when not in use, but I’m tripling your battery life.

i had issues with handcent when running a gbread rom on my og with regard to picture messaging, maybe it is just a carryover from those versions that never got fixed? I haven’t tried it on my gnex yet since the stock one is actually pretty nice

I dont get how anyone can like this phone… I went from a bionic to this and this is by far the most inferior device ever. My bionic with extended battery got me 2 days of moderate usage. I have the extended battery on the Nexus and i dont get more than 5 hours. 10 min after its off the charger im at 87%. My screen brightness is set to MIN. All wires are off – 4g/wifi/gps/bluetooth/data. My phone has now been off charger for 2.3 hours and its at 60%… Android OS is 45% Screen is 22%. This is ABSURD. The phone has litteraly SAT in my pocket since taken off charger. I have practically ZERO of the apps that my bionic have in fear that they were not ICS compliant so i deleted them all thinking it would save battery, NOT the case. I am seeing everyone get these amazing battery times. I already returned the phone 1 time in suspicion it was a lemon, it was not – bc the new phone has the same sh*tty battery time. The screen is GREAT – but you cant turn up the brightness cus it will be dead in 5 min. This phone is a TOTAL WASTE. Going back to my BRICK of a Bionic until something with better battery life comes out or ICS updates their crap software. Plus no facebook integratoin and crappy low-res contact images are a deal breaker. Ill take the verizon bloatware and 2 days of battery. Samsung/Google need to fix this or I will be an Iphone 5 purchaser and I have been the most anti apple person ever.

what are your settings. I lose 20% an hour and I am not even using my phone. Virtually zero usage I am getting MAX 5 hours of use on the EXTENDED battery. I have screen all the way down, all my wires turned off – no bluetooth/gps/wifi/4g. I couldnt possibly have anything else turned off. please elaborate how you are getting this battery life.

I have friends with the Droid Razr and the G.N and both phones are having major signal dropping issues. The Razr even had a bad SD card, I went with the Rezound and I have to say it’s been the best 4G LTE phone I have owned,,..,strong signal locking,great screen,and awesome call quality. The phone fits great in my hand and battery life is not bad with normal use.

I think you meant to say “Disable 4G”.
