Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition Coming To Android December 15th

Ten years ago Rockstar Games released the controversial and revolutionary game, Grand Theft Auto III to an eager Playstation crowd. Since then, Rockstar has continued to rock the console and PC gaming industry, and now look to do the same in the mobile landscape. A special 10 year anniversary edition of GTA3 will be hitting select Android devices December 15 for $4.99. The following devices will be supported at launch:

Android Phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x
Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive

I know what your thinking, no support for the Galaxy Nexus, DROID RAZR, or even the Bionic – crazy right? While the device list is surely lacking, a $4.99 price-tag for this game is more then pleasing. To bad it isn’t one of the $0.10 app specials.

No go on my Razr. At least I can get it on my xoom. I would prefer it on the bigger screen anyway.

it works on pointless phones that no one has. good job!

  • TheAndroid1

It’s good that it works on the Rezound, this means it works on 720p.

  • TheAndroid1

I’d pay 20 if they would release it for the Galaxy Nexus.

  • Jason Purp

It will eventually be ported to the Nexus, if it even needs to be. You might just need the APK.

  • GTA_on_Rezound

Nice!  This game introduced me into the evolved world of ‘gaming’.  I also like how the first Android phone listed in the HTC Rezound.
Looks like my $50 Cost Wireless purchase is starting to pay off!

    • DLife_4eva

I think you are referring to Costco Wireless, which is where I also scored my Rezound for $50 on black Friday.
The screen 720p screen and 1.5 dual core processor are amazing…

  • A classic.  But, I always remembered HATING how the main character never said a damn word, just another reason for me to swear at my TV while playing it

the nexus hasn’t even been released yet and its already been forgotten about with the release of one of the most wanted apps this year. lmao

I don’t see any OMAP4 devices in the list. Meaning the Nexus, Bionic, D3, Razr, etc. Maybe they’re having issues?

  • Trolololo

Oh man some good memories in this game! Cant wait

  • Bryan Williams

Now if I only had a Galaxy Nexus to play it on?!!?

    • Then it wouldn’t be supported anyways…

      • Bryan Williams

I’m sure it will be soon enough.
