Did my update December 3rd, data worked fine afterwards but phone would not work, it didn’t even list the phone number anymore. 2 hours at home trying to fix while talking with tech support, then 3 hours at corporate store. Did factory reset, tried new sim card, nothing worked. Since it was Saturday the manager promised to have me a refurbished phone sent to me by Tuesday or Wednesday (I actually received it on Monday, which was a pleasant surprise). I had to transfer my calls to my Sprint work phone so I could receive calls. Phone was fully charged during update, and according to messages everything went fine. I afraid to update the refurbished phone for fear of having another phone that won’t work as a phone. I’m afraid Verizon has terrible customer service and depends on their large network for customers. I won’t make the same mistake again when my contract is up.

The new update will cripple your ability to tether to a car stereo. if you like playing your music via a USB to the car stereo DO NOT update your phone. If you think I kidding then update it!!!!

I updated mine manually through my settings and about phone about 30 mins ago…. it does “do SH!T” the update is just released in batches dumb ass..

Updated yesterday. Cannot use my phone — starts up really slow, then freezes, then reboots — repeats…. Seriously flawed. I am holding off on doing the factory reset in hopes that someone comes up with a fix (I already tried the removing of the battery/sim/sd card – restart method that worked for some). Any other suggestions?

Do your widgets have a new look? I get that they are the same type of widgets, but mine look EXACTLY the same. I was hoping for the newer looking ones on the S II.

Has anyone noticed even worse battery life after the update? The only way I can get 8 or more hours of battery is if I’m at home using wi-fi.

I think i may see some hope for this phone, its not bad now… it was the worst android experience i ever had untill the update… it doesnt take the salty taste out my mouth completely of all the missed calls and freezes due to me doing simple task at the same time… and just crapping out for no reason… but its a great start…

I took mine to the Verizon store and they couldn’t even get the hard reset to work. They had to order me a new phone.

had the same issue… i got my update at 5am and passed out b4 it was, went to sleep and woke up at 10am and the droid boot up was still going!!!! so hard reset my phone and lost all data.. and when it boot back up it was 2.3.6. in tow… kinda blows i had to hard reset but it was kinda worth it… runs better now, but minus all my apps and games, so will test it out more to see if its really changed or just not loaded up. so far so good though, like the changes. makes me not hate my phone
