Verizon Starts Prepping Site for the HTC Rezound and Tomorrow’s Announcement

Ahead of tomorrow’s HTC Rezound announcement in NYC, Verizon has started to prepare the landing page for the device. If you cruise over to verizonwireless.com/rezound, you will find yourself on a blank page that has meta data built into it which references the existence of this Beats-powered 4G LTE beauty. Expected to be priced around $299 on contract, the Rezound will be one of the first phones on the planet with an HD screen. It will also sport a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, HTC Sense 3.5, and come with a set of Beats by Dre ear buds and a built-in improved audio experience. You can see how it compares to the Galaxy Nexus and DROID RAZR at this snazzy comparison chart we threw together.

Our goal is to have a live blog of the event around 3PM Eastern (12PM Pacific), so be sure to tune in tomorrow.

Cannot wait for this phone. I rather have this over the phone that looks like the edges got chipped off (Razr) and has a huge camera hump, been there done that with the droid X. The Nexus w/o a SD slot seems to iPhonish and if I really wanted to be stuck with only ‘X’ amount of memory I my as well get an iPhone. It looks good but no SD slot really has me bugging.

Oh and the web page for Rezound is currently blank! But if you put Rezound in the search you get some generic accessories!

    • Anonymous

you mean the lack of SD card seems too Nexus S-ish?…the phone is just fine with 32GB of memory but to each his own :p

    • Dominick DeVito

If there;s no SD card then Google’s trying to tell you something. Personally I think SD cards slow Android down immensely.

      • Anonymous

The speed of the SD card definitely factors in; if you’re using a class 2 card, it quite possibly is slowing you down, especially with high-bitrate media.

Switch to a class 6 card, and you won’t notice a bit of slowdown. That’s basically what the phone’s internal memory is, but soldered in instead of a removable card.

It’s a world-phone too, so you can take it with you if/when you travel.  I’m really surprised how little that seems to come up for most people…

I guess I travel a lot more than most.  Whatev.  Good phone.

What GPU will this have? Adreno 225?

HTC should have spent more money and added a larger battery rather than the beats. No point in all that if the phone is always dead.

    • http://twitter.com/jcardea CEO Of Monster I N C

Well make your final judgment when the phone actually comes out.

tomorrow’s even is HTCs or Verizon’s?

    I want my Sexy Nexy!!

    And I want it now!

  • Anonymous

I just can’t deal with HTC battery life.

  • Ryan C

Speaking of chrome.. would anybody be interested in the Droid-Life Chrome theme i made? http://www.mediafire.com/?yyw87kxt33aoya3

  • Samvelavich

yesterday i saw a new version of droid-life.. what happened? lol

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_MRXKXFO5F7NVWFJHNZFO7NEHVY Big R

No big deal here.  We all know this is coming out soon.  Conscientious consumers will wait to compare all 3 next to each other.  Others will get one, spend $35 to trade it for another, and then another $35 to change it again.  Me, I may look at it to get an idea of how good the SGN will be.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_LQNNJDZQIWIIHJWUIUV7R24XAM Aaron

It looks nice but I really wish HTC would change it up in the design area. They all look so similar with different designs in the material on the back. I do like the red accents though.

    • Anonymous

lol that is what i tell my friend. They are the new apple. They have had the same design since the htc evo came out.

  • Anonymous

This might be my next phone. I don’t need the pure google experience, but I want a removable battery and sd card. Plus the red accents seem kinda cool.

Off topic, thinking of buying a duracell instant charge as a backup. Fairly cheap and can give me that little bit extra I need. Any reason I shouldn’t? Have a Droid X right now.

The GNex has a removable battery… and comes with 32GB memory…

      • Anonymous

True, but he said he wanted an SD card

    • Anonymous

The only potential issue I see with this phone is battery life. I like HTC a lot but they need to use bigger batteries. I would personally wait for any of these new 4g phones to be in use for a while before I would buy one. Rezound and Razr look like the 2 best to me.

      • Jboogie1289

        Smoke dope much bro?

      • Anonymous

Yep, best thing would be to play with them all at once and pick.  I for one have lost my patience and am in need of a replacement, so I jumped the gun.

    • Jak_341

Save yourself the hassle. Get the GNex and be done with it. Nothing to look at with the rest of the devices.

      • Anonymous

        Sure there isn’t…

      • Anonymous

        The nexus is plastic.

    • Monkeydroid

The GNex comes in 16Gig or 32Gig. With as many cloud services Google provides, how much space do you need? And it has a removable battery.

  • tjmonkey15

It would be really cool if every phone ever was released before the Galaxy Nexus.

  • Levi Wilcox

If you look at the code commented out on the page, it’s just an email sign up. In chrome you can even take out the comments. looks like the image attached.

How in the world can they call the Rezound sleek? It’s petty much a brick just like my Thunderbolt.

    • Jboogie1289

I am actually a little excited about this device. I am set on the Nexus but I think the Rezound still has a lot of potential.

  • http://www.elementary-project.com Kevin McDole

Really anticipating this phone. Will definitely buy on launch day.

    Dear Galaxy Nexus,

I pains me to see you being treated like a bastard child by Verizon. You are one of a kind and yet Verizon treats you even worse than a morbidly obese HTC phone!

I am really sorry that you have to go through Verizon’s incompetency in giving you the proper adulation and respect that you deserve.

Rest assured, we love you and you are the only one in our hearts and mind.

Until we meet face to face..

    so long.

    • http://www.facebook.com/nexus15 Thomas Moneyhon

Yeah and the thing is Google doesn’t care what Verizon does with the public release because Google announced the phone, its releasing somewhere soon (internationally) and then Google employees can get their hands on a GN at any time because they work for the friggin’ company. So yeah google doesnt care either…

      Very sad.

      • Anonymous

I’m tellin ya Verizon is delaying it so they can work out some bugs with the VCAST apps they preloaded……

        • Anonymous

           nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo….

        • Anonymous

          lol@vcast…I forgot about that chet

        • Anonymous

They may delay the nexus like they did with the bionic. I will see a lot of people hating on the plastic thing lol.

          • JetmanFL410

And delay it gorilla glass, and better front and rear camera, and better screen and thinner LTE version, and better processor, and better phone all together!

          • Anonymous

Yea the razor will be the best.

The nexus is good for devs that’s it.

    • Qazwsxrebel

Umm… just saying, the GN is gonna be garbage..The absolute, end all, only thing it has going for it is the fact that it will be shipped with ICS, and get adequate updates. I’m gonna stick to my quality built HTC devices that I’ve never had a problem with since the WinMo days, and you can stick to your fancy android running, Samsung Instinct. What quality… noob.

      • Anonymous

I highly doubt that the Nexus will be garbage.

      • Anonymous

no one questioned HTC’s build quality. I have a thunderbolt for your information. It’s just that they are built like a frigging tank and the battery sucks.

  • Anonymous

I don’t understand how every phone comes out on time except the one we all want. First the Bionic, now the Nexus…

    • Anonymous

Why do you hate the Thunderbolt?

      • Anonymous

        That too!

  • Kelson Sebring

Verizon doesn’t typically throw pages up for devices too far in advance. There are always exceptions, like the RAZR. If that page goes live tomorrow after the announcement, that either means the device is coming very soon, or maybe they will do a preorder?

  • Anonymous

    Amazing

    • Anonymous

It is all about the razor :)

  • Anonymous

    Meh.

  • Keith Sumner

Motorola sucks and the Bionic was a flop..oh …sorry wrong thread…I meant to say When is the Galaxy Nexus coming? Oh wait…wrong thread again…ummmm…

    u mad bro?

    • http://twitter.com/jcardea CEO Of Monster I N C

      you lame bro?

    • Jboogie1289

      Good catch and better question…..bro!!!

    • Jak_341

Motorola hasn’t really had a hit since the OG Droid. The rest were Blur phones. They really weren’t Android. Same with the upcoming RAZR. It’s a Blur phone.

      • Anonymous

Are you high? They havn’t had a “hit”? So to you a “hit” isn’t a successful phone that sells MILLIONS or anything….no it’s plain ***UGLY*** stock Android that makes a “hit”?

Hmmm, those Nexus phone must be great then. Cuz EVERYONE has one right? Ya know, it being a “hit” and all.

      • Anonymous

        Wow….

      • Anonymous

The droid x and the bionic are the best Droid devices till now that we have the razor. The droid was lacking memory and size.

    • Anonymous

The bionic is a future proof device. what are you talking about? go back to Africa and educate yourself first before opening your mouth.
