New XOOM2 Models Appear in Verizon System Sporting Storage Up to 64GB and 4G LTE

by: | posted 10.27.11 | News

The new Motorola XOOM2 models are starting to pop up everywhere they should be prior to launch. After we gave the world the first pictures, we then saw them in Verizon Cellebrite as the Pasteur (MZ617) and Fleming (MZ609) and are now seeing them in another system with 4G branding and storage size. The MZ617, we have been told is the actual 10.1″ XOOM2. The MZ609 on the other hand is the smaller “media edition” XOOM2 that has also been floating around.

What do you guys think of having a choice of storage up to 64GB on the big dog? 4G is a nice addition, but that also means carrier pricing issues. I think we all know how well that has gone so far – here’s to hoping they offer WiFi-only versions alongside these.

More Signs Of Google Music Coming To The Android Market

by: | posted 10.27.11 | Apps, News

When visiting music.google.com from your Android device last night, you were presented with the above image. Reports have been circulating that Google is looking to launch their own music store within the coming weeks. When the page above launched, the “Learn More” and “Shop Android Market” links were both unresponsive. However, the first link will now lead you to Google’s introduction page for Music Manager, and the second has since been removed. It seems as if we found something before Google intended it to be found.

When ever I am listening to music on my device, and I am not on Pandora, I am using Google Music. While I can’t store all of my songs, I am fine with having 20,000 accessible anywhere. It will be interesting to see how Google will price various songs and how well they compete against Amazon and Apple.

DROID RAZR Pre-Orders Sell Out Online Already? (Updated: It’s Back!)

by: | posted 10.27.11 | News

After having been available for the pre-order for only a few hours, the DROID RAZR appears to have sold out online. I actually can’t remember the last time I saw that happen with an Android device. Could just be that Moto and Verizon limited the supply to get suckers like me to write this post or maybe it actually did sell like hot cakes. Definitely a top tier phone, so I wouldn’t be surprised if people did jump all over it.

Oh, and if you upgrade a device or add a new line, you can actually get it for $249.

Update:  And it’s back. Available again.

Video: Ice Cream Sandwich Hands-on and Overview

by: | posted 10.27.11 | News, Videos

The Ice Cream Sandwich port that was made for the Nexus S has been awesome to play with to say the least. After doing that massive gallery from it though, we noticed that many of you wanted video evidence of it running and decided to put something together. Keep in mind that this is an SDK port and can be slow at times, but it is still one heck of an accomplishment by Drew Garen. Been running this for almost 2 days now and have enjoyed every bit of it.

So without further ado, Android 4.0 running on a Nexus S in video.

Galaxy Nexus Image Points Towards November 10 Release?

by: | posted 10.27.11 | News, Rumors

After signing up for the latest info on the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon, you should have received an email back thanking you. If you view that email as a web page and then take a look at the image included specifically, you see what we have captured above. Now, we are clearly going all conspiracy theory on you since we can’t help but find ways to talk about the G-Nex, but that most definitely includes the numbers 11 and 10. 11/10? November 10? That would be the same date that we have shown you on multiple occasions in Verizon systems and MAP lists.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying that this “confirms” an 11/10 launch or anything, but it could be another sign as if there weren’t enough already. Oh, and the RAZR is most definitely launching on the 10th as well, plus HTC is going to announce the Rezound next week with a potential launch the following Thursday. Could Verizon really drop three of the biggest Android phones in history on the same day?

Cheers Arda!
