Ice Cream Sandwich Theme Built From SDK Now Available For CM7 Theme Chooser

We are constantly looking for ways to transform our phones to make them look like they’re running Google’s newest delicious concoction, Ice Cream Sandwich. The newest theme from XDA member Sonnysekhon, delivers the new tasty treat for all custom ROM’s running the Theme Chooser app which is found most commonly in CyanogenMod 7.

All you have to do is download and install as you would any other 3rd party app. Open up Theme Chooser and apply the theme. After a simple reboot you’ll be frolicking though through Ice Creamy dreams. The app itself is in the midst of getting updated constantly as the developer finds ways of making your phone look more and more like a G-Nex, so check back often for updates. Have fun.

Damn, when I try to install it it says “this theme is missing assets for your device’s screen size”

    • Anonymous

Go forward with it anyway and see if it works. Worked for me on the X.

using the theme chooser app (icon is a multi colored android) that comes with cm7, once applied do a reboot and everything should take full effect.

  • Steenerk

Keeps saying cannot open file. Any help. Thanks

    • Anonymous

make sure unkown sources has been checked in application settings and then open it in a file explorer theres one built into cm or you can use astro and the file will be in a file called download and then you should be able to install that way, i had the same problem then it worked.

    • Random Android Fan

Find it using File Manager and install it through there it will open.

  • Steenerk

Keeps saying cannot open file. Any help. Thanks

  • Balticzar

Hmmmmmm….looks like the “phone” and the “contacts” both pull up contacts. I need to go directly to “dialer” and there is no “dialer” icon/app. Unless I’m missing something. Someone please correct my dense self if I am. Other than that………looks sweeeeet.

  • Dustin carney

off topic question here…how do i get my gallery to show .png files so i can open them up in launcher pro?!?

    • Carol

This might not help at all, but I had the same trouble on my Droidx. I have Launcher Pro as well. I finally saved them (I assume you are talking about the ICS icons Droid Life had a few days ago) to my desktop in a zip file. Then opened that up and right clicked the picture and emailed it to my gmail and downloaded to my gallery. That enabled me to use the pics as custom icons to replace the ones in my dock bar. Good Luck. I am sure for the techies this was a crazy long way around to do it, but it worked for me!

The only thing I want is the Samsung Nexus with the real ICS.

  • dcyamaha

i downloaded and i get an error that says its not compiled correctly.

  • Stephen

So….what if I decided to install this not on cyanogen mod. :p

What do they mean “built from SDK?” if anything was built from SDK it would be a regular android app

    • Dustin carney

Colors, app pictures, things like that i assume.

  • Dustin carney

how do i untheme all of my apps? i applied this theme but it still has all of my apps themed….

    • Dustin carney

wait, im a idiot i have an adw theme… *facepalm* lol

  • Anonymous

yeah too bad my OG Droid that I’ve been holding onto waiting for the Galaxy Nexus is too slow to run this theme smoothly

  • Aholeinthewor1d2

    • http://twitter.com/sparkjays Green Dutch

same issue, says cannot open file?  and I have turned on to allow 3rd party apps to be installed.  running CM 7.1.0 RC1, HTC Incredible

      • http://twitter.com/TB7024 Zach W.

Same issue here, Samsung Galaxy Mesmerize CM 7.1.0  Any ideas anyone? I can’t click “install”.

        • http://profiles.google.com/ezbbycame2play earl echols

mine saved as a .php file when i downloaded it from my phone, i just renamed it .apk and installed.

        • http://twitter.com/TB7024 Zach W.

I was able to install by disabling the “screen filter” app.

    • http://twitter.com/BigSteveW Steve Wilson

Use the file manager. Open download folder and install from there.

    • Colin Zack

I had the problem downloading from my phone. Worked better downloading to PC and transferring that way.

  • Billy Jenkins

I dont’t use CM7 but I am rooted. and this is still good news to me because hopefully this is 1 step closer to a full ICS rom

    • Anonymous

I would love to see ICS on all devices but I really don’t think this is a step towards a full ICS rom. That would kind of like calling MIUI a step towards iOS on an Android phone.

  • Anonymous

No substitute for the real thing

  • BossHogg

“Sorry, this theme is missing assets for your devices screen size” DX CM7.1?

    • Killershade

Just apply it anyway, should work fine.

      • BossHogg

        Thanks. Love it already.

  • Chuch2174

Love it, it will hold me off for a bit but not long, cmon Nexus.

  • http://androiddelight.com/ Audio

I’ll hold out for the Galaxy Nexus.

  • Killershade

Lookin good here. Running it on Liquid Smooth 3.0 for TB

I need to finish my theme

I’ll pay someone to put Cyanogenmod on my Thunderbolt

    • http://www.facebook.com/borgey401 Andrew Borges

i’ll help you put it on your phone for free…….. if you would like some help email me andrewborges144@gmail.com

      • Balticzar

That’s very cool of you bro. Thanks on behalf of him. I love to see that. We have a great community for the most part. Bravo to you.

Rooting with Revolution or whatever is incredibly easy.

  • shdowman

    RELEASE THE DAMN PHONE!!

Rendering this exercise moot! (at least for us VZW users) ;)

    • Anonymous

I agree, it’s ridiculous that Vz hasn’t released a date yet. The one thing I give to Apple is once they present a new version of their phone. You know a launch date immediately.

      • Billy Jenkins

yea. like the Iphone 5? remember? the phone released a few weeks ago? but wait. wasn’t that the Iphone 4s?

    • http://twitter.com/gamercore Chris Chavez

      You happy, br0? o_O

      • shdowman

        Madly happy, madly.

    Now I wish I wasn’t on MIUI

    • Anonymous

OMG it’s BEAUTIFUL! Roboto is in full effect, market is themed, the blue is calming. OMG OMG, I’m so excited for ICS!

      • jbonics

Oh brother…… like the transparent parts ( notifications, phone) but the power widget, Google search, music widget, couldn’t be uglier. Good job though just constructive criticism.

      • Jey Wright
