Ice Cream Sandwich Statue Arrives at Google! (Updated: With Video)

YouTube Preview Image

Update:  How about some video action of the ICS statue?

And would you look at that…

The Ice Cream Sandwich statue has arrived at Google’s headquarters within minutes of the announcement of their Hong Kong unveiling. You can’t get any more official.

Via:  Google+, Android Central

  • Enoel69

Replayed the video multiple times..somewhere around 39 to 40 seconds into the video…that certainly looks like a big device probably one of the ICS devices being tested or just a N1 or NS.

  • Enoel69

Can anyone discern which kind of device the lady on the Statue unveiling video is using? Is that a Nexus S or maybe one of the two devices that has eluded us all this while…Samsung Galaxy Nexus or the Nexus Prime?

  • Christopher Wyatt

    Where is the donut?

  • Nate Surber

    At 0:39 seconds.  Galaxy Nexus?

  • Anonymous

thats gonna be a pretty ridiculous (or awesome?) looking lawn once they reach Z

  • webby

I see what you’re doin’ there, Andy Rubin …

  • Anonymous

Hell yeah! All cheers, who cheers(?), we all cheer for Ice Cream Sandwich!

    Or something to that regard.

  • Daniel James

I still remember watching the Gingerbread statue being put up. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year! Time sure does fly!

    • Anonymous

smh that my tbolt just now got the OFFICIAL gingerbread…now i gotta wait till next year to get ICS =

  • Anonymous

It’s surprisingly difficult to cut an Ice Cream Sandwich.

    • Tyrian

      I’ll give you a C for effort

    • Anonymous

hmm, maybe needs to be more frozen…

  • Anonymous

The people who work on the Android team at Google are so lucky.  What I wouldn’t give to have a job where I can take a nap in that tanning-bed-looking chamber.  Bastards.

    • Bear0013

What r u exactly willing to give up buddy! !!……u naughty lil slut u…….lol …….jk

I kind of enjoyed that – ICE CREAM MAN! Reminded me of an old Eddie Murphy bit.

Makes me want to send a gift basket of Mangos to Redmond.

I literally just grabbed an ice cream sandwich from the freezer because that looked so GOOD.

This is all the confirmation I needed.

  • Dwq2

    when phone?

  • Trdracer21

ALRIGHT!!! NOW YOU KNOW ITS COMING SOON

  • Anonymous

just a question…and maybe i’m being too observant…but why does it appear that eclair is leaving death in its wake?(note the big spot of dead grass)

    • Anonymous

Eclair and Donut were eaten by the employees…

    • Peter Kelly

There are also flagstones around the Honeycomb.  That dead spot may not be anything other than rock.

    • Cheuh!

      or it simply shifted.

    Nom Nom

  • Gottheguds112

    They are all so awesome!

  • Kevoskee

its going to melt in all that sun

    • Crazydog

      The Froyo didn’t!

  • Me

    That’s just creepy

  • Jake

Maybe this is the reason that the announcement was delayed. They were waiting for the ICS statue to be in teh ground, not Steve Jobs.

    • Rp780

Funny but, too soon bro, lol

      • Jake

        u sad bro?

        • Tyrian

just stop while people are still liking your original comment

          • John

            haha

          • Jake

            haha!

    • Anonymous

      Good one! +1

    • Anonymous

DISLIKED! Seriously, someone really needs to moderate these damn comments more frequently.

Yeah, that’s right, I’m making a proposal here. I’m offering myself up as the Official (Unofficial) Droid-Life Moderator!

I’ll scan through the ridiculous and most distasteful comments so you don’t have to! Also, I’ll work for apps.

Notice that last part that’s bold? I really mean it!

(One last thing…I’m not incorrect here. People need to THINK before commenting on an open space like this. And that is all I gotta say about that)

And no, I’m not mad, sad, or what have you, I’m just telling it like it is.

      • Kellogs

        U angry Bro?

        • Anonymous

          Oh, absolutely I am!

      • http://www.facebook.com/TJHRULZ tjhrulz

Dude it is just a comment, and a good one too. Maybe there is a reason you are not a MOD, paid or not and most are not paid and do it because they love the website.

        • Anonymous

Yeah, was just sorta kidding around. If Kellex and the others wanted to hire freelance moderators, they would have done so by now.

I really enjoy going to droid-life, which is why I’m still here, and that’s about it.

But if there was a job spot open for Moderators, I’d totally apply and would do it for free.

          Moving on…lol

          • http://www.facebook.com/TJHRULZ tjhrulz

Lol, yeah I would do it in a heartbeat too. The guys that run this website are great guys

  • Grmarco

Most appetizing one yet!  In more ways than one.

  • SugaShane

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EF8GhC-T_Mo   … Would you look at that!

    • Anonymous

LOL I was thinking the same thing when I looked at the comment above hahah..

  • J Dub

Who makes these statues? They are under wraps tighter than the phones or the OS. Funny how there aren’t leaked shots of these in the factory.

    • Nate Surber

They probably make them there, on campus.  The statue shop is right next to the Large Hadron Collider.

  • Nate Surber

    That would make a bad@$$ mini-golf course.

  • Anonymous

I’d shoot him if he was in my yard

    • shdowman

Judging by the holes riddled through him, you aren’t the only one.

    • Anonymous

why did i picture this when i saw this comment? haha

      http://youtu.be/Qu8EK7Rq9_w

  • SexyOffender

Was this taken with a Nexus also?

  • Anonymous

    HELLO THERE, HOTTIE! ;)

  • Anonymous

Is it me or does it look like he’s struggling to get out of quicksand?

    • Anonymous

No, it looks like a hot black chick is trying to get out of her tight white skirt

      • Anonymous

Mmmm, Ice cream Halley Barry sandwich.

  • Jasonharris42

    Nice!

  • http://twitter.com/nashmax73 TomAss (TA)

I never knew Google HQ had its own Android Easter Island.  Cool!

  • OG Droid

I wish my job was this cool……

  • Nate Surber

Was the picture found on Picasa, taken by a Galaxy Nexus?

  • Murphy

    In all its chocolate glory!

  • Anonymous

Get ready for a year of waiting to get this on your phone lol. I hope they release the source code so we can get some custom roms.

    • Madcow06

And that is why I’m getting a nexus,

      • Anonymous

Hopefully they announce a Nexus on Verizon at Hong Kong next week.

        • Anonymous

I would imagine Verizon will announce the release date and price.  We’ll likely get a “beginning of November” from Google.

          • Anonymous

Also hopefully it has a working GPS. I know how Samsung rolls.

          • Tobke2

Galaxy S II has no issues w/ GPS. I doubt they’d mess it up on the GNex.

          • Anonymous

Hopefully. And hopefully it will change my mind about Samsung. GS1’s were a total fail.

  • Anonymous

    SWEET!! No pun intended…
