Official Hotmail App Released on Android

Our instant reaction after learning that Microsoft had released an official Hotmail app on Android is something that probably can’t be repeated in public.  It’s just sooo….hilarious on so many levels. Memories of spam-filled inboxes, horribly placed ads, and 15 or so non-user friendly make-overs come immediately to mind. Wow, Hotmail.

For those of you that still use it, feel free to jump on it and let us know how it works!

The app is pretty good…not spectacular, but good. I don’t notice a huge difference between this app and the native E-mail, other than setting up the account for the first time was obviously easier with the Hotmail app, and that now deleted messages sync up correctly (before, if I deleted an email on the phone, it would delete from the server…but if I deleted an email while logged in on hotmail.com, it wouldn’t delete from the phone. With the Hotmail app, it does.)

The only issue I’m having is with the notification. I have vibrate and audio notifications turned off, and message notification turned on…but my phone still vibrates when I get a new message. Hopefully that’s an easy fix.

I precisely had to say thanks yet again. I am not sure the things I would’ve accomplished in the absence of the entire creative concepts discussed by you about such question. Previously it was a very daunting situation in my opinion, nevertheless coming across this well-written style you dealt with it took me to jump with delight. I’m happy for your service and as well , pray you recognize what a great job that you’re doing educating men and women through the use of your website. Most likely you’ve never met any of us.

I’ve had Hotmail since 1995 (I think) and have never had a problem with it.  I’ve also got a GMail account, and a couple others, but I’m of the opinion that I would prefer not switching my email accounts whenever something new comes out.  My Hotmail account is still the one that everyone knows and it wasn’t until last year when it got hacked that I actually had to change my password.
