XOOM 4G LTE Upgrade is Live Now, Get a FREE Standard Dock With It

by: | posted 09.29.11 | News

Verizon announced that the Motorola XOOM 4G LTE upgrade would begin today and it looks like they kept their word on that.  If you head to the link below, you’ll see that the email sign-up page has been changed to “Upgrade Now.”  I would suggest that you hurry since they appear to be handing out Standard Docks to the first set of people that fill out their upgrade form.

When it asks for your IMEI/MEID, you can find it on your XOOM under Settings>About>Status.

Upgrade.

HTC Rhyme Now Available From Verizon, Six-Armed Woman Included

by: | posted 09.28.11 | Commercials, News

The glowing charm phone aka the HTC Rhyme, is now available at Verizon for $199 on 2-year contract.  Clearly geared towards women, this phone comes with its own docking station, tangle-free earbuds, and snazzy charm notifier to let you know when you have an incoming call.  The specs won’t blow your mind, but they aren’t supposed to.  It’s all about style and function with this phone – a semi-bold new concept from any phone manufacturer.

Oh, and check out this new commercial that just went live.  It’s…well, I don’t want to spoil it and will just ask that you watch it yourselves.

New DROIDX2 Soak Test is About to Begin, Just Bug Fixes or Something Else?

by: | posted 09.28.11 | News

Another update for the DROIDX2 is on the way?  I’ll be honest and say that I have no idea what it could be other than bug fixes.  Is there a chance that the DX2 finally gets that 3D Blur love that the DROID3 and Bionic have been able to experience?  Seems like it should knowing that it has equal specs to the D3 and should easily be able to run that version of Moto’s custom UI.  I guess we’ll know in just a few days when the soak starts.

Casio G’Zone Commando is Getting Updated to Gingerbread

by: | posted 09.28.11 | News

The rugged Casio G’z0ne Commando is scheduled to receive its Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update in the very near future.  A friend just sent over this support document that details the upgrade before it goes live on Verizon’s site.  For the most part, the update looks like a bug fixer, but we know that 2.3 will make it buttery smooth just as it did the Thunderbolt.

For those of you running wild in the woods with a Commando by your side, be sure to get to an area that has service soon so that your phone can get in on the GB party.
