I tired this and get an error. assert failed: apply_patch_check (“/system/app/BooksPhone.apk”, [bunk of letters and numbers]) E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7). Tried it several times with different downloads. Same file all the time. The only thing done to my phone was rooting it. I expect thats part of the problem.

so i did this and it worked but after i did it i plugged my phone into my computer and it wont connect it just charges and i cant even change the mode of the usb connection because nothing comes up in my notification bar that i was even connected to a computer.. please help!!!

I had to switch my Swype settings back to English. For some reason the update changed it to Spanish.

Same deal here…i lost root with this update. WTF! havent tried getting it back though. tonight ill try one click root again.

Is it possible I’ve already gotten this update OTA because my phone rebooted and now says System Version 5.5.959.XT862 ?
I didn’t pay attention to what it did when it rebooted, it’s a Droid 3 and it just does this sort of thing, ya know?

I renamed mine to “update.zip”…don’t know if that helps or not. I do recall that for previous updates (gingerbread, for instance), we were told to rename it as that.

That makes sense. I just don’t recall ever seeing the “sdcard” vs “sdcard-ext” on my two previous Droids.

sdcard is the internal memory and sdcard-ext is the external sdcard…recovery reads the external sd

After running this update, I am not able to complete root.I get the following error with psouza4′s one-clickRunning exploit step 3 of 3 (adding su, busybox, and superuser.apk)… FAIL!ERROR: we have root, but couldn’t push busybox. Not sure why!

Is swype completely jacked up for anyone else after this? Mine is completely unusable. I’ve rebooted the phone a couple times and still swype remains a mess. Anyone else having this issue?
