Leaked Images Of Verizon’s Upcoming Samsung Stratosphere Hit The Web

When visiting the WireFly page for the newly available Pantech Breakout, a keen-eyed reader noticed two press shots of the upcoming and unannounced Samsung Stratosphere. Both images were bundled within the Breakout’s gallery and matched up to the ones we saw earlier this month.

The Stratosphere is an upcoming Verizon 4G LTE device that contains a QWERTY keyboard (think Epic 4G) and is rumored to be arriving in early October. The Stratosphere should provide a QWERTY option to those looking for an LTE device that won’t break the bank. Unfortunately, pricing is unavilable at this time. Another photo can be found after the break.

I kind of want this phone. It looks slimmer than the Epic 4G, but it better have bumped up specs. Knowing Verizon, it probably has worse specs.

Sooo has the playstion 3 phone been announced yet? Cause that’s a phone i’d go ape shit for

“The Stratosphere should provide a QWERTY option to those looking for an LTE device that won’t break the bank.”  I fall into the class of the user who doesn’t give a damn if it breaks the bank, as long as it has QWERTY, LTE, and bitchin’ specs, of which this only has the former 2.  How about a version of the samnexusprime thingy with a keyboard.  Regardless of size or weight, I’d pay $350-400 for that one with a new 2 year contract.

  • Droidonic

I know this sounds strange but with the right price tag ($150-200 w/2yr contract) and being the first 4G LTE slider, this will probably give the Bionic and other more spec heavy LTE phones some serious competition. Don’t under estimate the demand for physical keypads. According to the rumored specs this phone isn’t high end, but its no slouch either. I’m personally looking forward to getting one for my wife (if the price is right) and rooting the hell out of it!

I just got a $827.89 Samasung Galaxy Tab for only $103.37 and my mom got a $1499.99 HTV for only $251.92, they are both coming tomorrow. I would be an idiot to ever pay full retail prîces at places like Walmart or Bestbuy. I sold a 37″ HTV to my boss for $600 that I only paid $78.24 for.

When is the droid incredible going to be updated to gingerbread.  I don’t hear anymore talk about it

  • Adaj

I’d get it if it was an SGS2 with a keyboard.

    • Anonymous

People are underestimating the difference that LTE makes.  I had a chance to try out my friend’s Thunderbolt, which is “just an Evo with LTE” like the Stratosphere is probably “just an Epic with LTE” (though it’s possible it might have an upgraded processor).  The difference between Verizon LTE and 3G is like night and day.  LTE is faster than a good wi-fi connection.

Right now, the only phone that will be significantly faster than the Stratosphere when surfing the web is the Bionic.  Of course, the D3 and the SGS2 will be faster for games and other CPU-intensive tasks that can take advantage of dual cores.

However, if the rumors are true that Verizon’s version of the Prime will be a slider, then it might be worth waiting instead…

      • Anonymous

I agree, LTE makes a huge difference, but the one problem is on LTE sucks up the battery life

      • Hocus

Wait, what rumors about the Prime being a slider? I hope that’s true.

        • Anonymous

Evidently, I can’t link to the actual discussions, but reliable sources are saying that at least one of the major carriers will be receiving a version of the Prime with a physical QWERTY keyboard.

  • Me

You people know so people won’t use everything a super phone has to offer just want to check email, glance at facebook, quick look up something and use their
home computer for everything else… Sent from my bionic

    • Anonymous

Agree. not every phone is directed at the tech geeks who read these sites. Not everyone cares about dual core blah blah blah. Nobody is making you get this phone or read this article people quit your bitching!

      • Me too

+ 1 yeah what they said

        • Anonymous

Yes a phone company is bound to release mid to low range smart phones for the casual user. But the fact is that most all of Verizons phones are outdated or behind the competition. So tech geeks that need Verizon because that is the only network with good reception, don’t have much of a choice, but to get old junk that Verizon is putting out.

          • Me too

No. I. Hear what you’re saying you work hard for you you should be able to buy whatever toys you. Me personally if I wasn’t a truck driver wanting some creature comforts of home i’d be rocking a dumb phone

          • Me too

Damn people sorry bout all the missing words its hard to use mobile replies on this site for mobile go figure

          • Anonymous

            It’s all good

          • OTPGA

It wouldn’t be so hard if you had a physical keyboard.

          • Anonymous

            You are outdated

          • Anonymous

the bionic isn’t outdated. The vigor/prime wont be outdated. You have to remember who else has an lte network with phones? Nobody does so this is still a new tech for these companies to make phones with top of the line specs. People complain about everything but once verizon starts getting more high end lte they will find something else to complain about.

      • Anonymous

Most mid range consumers are the ones buying more smart devices than geeks

        • Anonymous

That is what I am saying. Sites like these like to bash every phone that isnt’ top price and don’t realize some people don’t need a dual core to check facebook, text and do all that. Just because they don’t want it doesnt mean nobody will. I am sure this will be a big seller for those who want a keyboard and lte without a huge price tag.

          • Anonymous

People are stupid and never satisfied. This will be a good selling device

    • Anonymous

A lot of people will buy this one and the bliss

IIt’s good to offer consumers options but….. “bring on the Vigor!! “

    • Anonymous

      The vigor might disappointment you

      • Anonymous

Every phone disappoints someone because none of them are perfect. I am sure you are just mad you are stuck with the bionic when new better phones are coming out soon.

        • Anonymous

I have that and DROIDX2 I can get any device. I just feel htc sucks

          • Anonymous

The droid x2 is a POS. not to mention htc is much more dev friendly and allows for custom kernels and the like.

          • Anonymous

Who cares about that. The devices are packing good specs already. Nice ram dual core lte

          • Anonymous

a lot of people. custom kernels make for better battery life and a slew of other things. Just because you don’t doesnt mean everyone feels the same.

          • Anonymous

Only 3% of all smart phone users do that. You are one of them of course.

          • Anonymous

Nice # to pull out of your ass. But Actually I usually don’t do that but it is nice to have the ability without having to jump through a million hurdles to do it like moto makes you do with their locked down phones.

          • Anonymous

If you want to get it up your ass go right way. Rooting is for people that have nothing to do. The bionic is the best device right now out of the box

          • Anonymous

ha ok if you say so. Don’t get mad your “best” phone isnt really the best. Maybe on verizon but that isnt saying much with their shitty lineup. You need a cookie you seem upset

          • Anonymous

No im not you are you started to curve first lol. Ill send you a teddy bear lol

          • Anonymous

You seem upset maybe your bionic is having issues and you just can’t admit it. It’s ok its a motorola they have lots of issues. Just like the droid 3=)

          • Anonymous

Bionic is perfect so all Moto devices. Htc sucks, Moto and Sammy are the top dogs

          • Anonymous

ha yeah you keep telling yourself that the bionic is perfect. Maybe some day it will come true.

          • Anonymous

Which device its better now? Vigor will have outdated gpu lol cheap battery life as well

          • Anonymous

Because you had hands on with the vigor? The prime and vigor both will be better. Also the vigor doesn’t use an outdated gpu do a little research. Not to mention you said the bionic is perfect so what does it being perfect have to do with other phones? If you constantly have to defend yourself than it isnt perfect. Just saying its a phone.

          • Anonymous

Yea it will you, the prime will have the same gpu as the bionic. It will be overclock at 1.5 . The bionic has the best ram ddr2

          • Anonymous

The vigor is said to have ddr2 also. Plus the prime will most likely run a little smoother than moto products do with blur.

          • Anonymous

Rumors rumors and more rumors lol. The bionic already has that zumo cast hdmi mirror and all the webdock capabilities

          • Anonymous

All things most people do not care about lol. If you want to go by that then the vigor and prime will have hd screens, free cloud storage, etc

          • Anonymous

A lot of people care about features. The screen on htc are good that I give it to you. Battery life awful, plastic feel reception horrible and I don’t want to talk about the speakers in it lol

          • Anonymous

Thats why they partnered with beats to get better speakers and sound quality.

          • Anonymous

Beats sucks too, they are overrated. Bionic will be the device that will sell the most

          • Anonymous

The headphones are overrated the speakers are actually nice. We will see but I doubt the bionic will sell the most. Maybe it will because it will probably go on sale right away once the vigor and prime come out.

          • Anonymous

Original DROID sold the most 2009 2010the DROID x 2011 the bionic

          • Anonymous

Devices are better because of features and specs bionic has it all. The cam could improve but if you take pics on good lightning conditions it will take good pictures
