Because mobile tech is so big it will eventually simply out “strings attached” devices… However the current market is in the smallest and most portable devices, thus for the short term they will start having the most powerful chipset. On the long term, larger devices (like laptops) will have a similar (but slightly slower) rise in power.

In short, it is not what is the most capable or is the best that determine what comes next, but rather what is the most profitable.
