Yep, I have been using CM for years and I actually like Blur on the Bionic. I rooted to uninstall crapware and installed Go Launcher and am quite happy with the Bionic vs the TBolt. The screen is annoying but does make up for it in sunlight.

Great news. I got my D3 4 days ago and rooted it right away. Rom manager is installed but waits on CMW for D3. I really liked it on my D1 and will be eagerly waiting for it for my D3.

ditto, the horrors of motoblur is quite atrocious coming from the D1. I finally understand what all the griping was about.. except nowadays most ppl in this arena seem to have become quite tolerant of it, ironically many even saying it’s actually becoming pretty good.

There’s definitely talk in the XDA forums of it coming soon after the Droid 3 especially since they have such similar hardware. I know of one dev that already has a custom ROM developed and is just waiting for HashCode to port ClockWork over to the Bionic to release it. Devs are all over the Bionic, looking forward to whats in store!

That is correct. I was just referring to ROM’s with different kernels. Hopefully they’re able to just crack the bootloader soon and it won’t matter. Even though the Droid 3 and Bionic use TI processors instead of Tegra 2′s, hopefully the Atrix unlock info can be utilized to some extent.

I’m fully aware that there is still a long way to go before we’ll be ale to install vanilla Android in a Droid 3, but this is a huge step in the right direction, plus, as far as I know the only thing locked by the bootloader is the kernel, not the OS per se, isn’t it?? so in theory it should be possible to install a different ROM as long as it runs over the same kernel… or am I misguided??
