Gingerbread is all loaded and works great! Very responsive now. Has a cool Sleep feature, too. And an excellent idea for the App Groups! You can lump all your apps, such as games, browsers, etc., into folders of your choice.

New Hampshire….pulled in the update at 2:30….very snappy and has fixed some corpoarte sync issues

I am downloading the Gingerbread update as we speak! I will have to finish this
at home, since it is wi-fi based (due to size), but it has started! The update
version matches Verizon’s posted update number on http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/droid_2_global.pdf,
in that it is Version.4.5.607.A956.Verizon.en.US. I
will post updates when this is done.

My wife and I both have the D2G. I have mine rooted and am totally happy with it. I will not be installing the update on mine until it is successfully, easily, rooted.

Wrong. D2 has TI OMAP 3620-1000 D2G has TI OMAP 3630-1200. It is not the same chip.

Yes KleenDroid, I bought this phone for my gf first smartphone. Her phone has been randomly rebooting lately…so the update will be good to have.
