Square Receives Update to Version 2.1, Fast Transactions and Easier Tipping are Go

Food truck owners, Saturday market entrepreneurs, musicians, and all other transactional based businesses, be aware that Square has been updated to version 2.1 to make your life so much easier.  For those not familiar, Square is that little white box that you keep seeing on top of the phone of the late night burrito shack you frequent that runs credit cards.  It truly is one of the great mobile inventions of our time for anyone looking to sell goods on the go.

Here is a list of new goodies:

Faster transactions: You can now check out customers in as little as 4 seconds and avoid long lines.

Easier tipping: Optimized tipping interface so customers can quickly add gratuity with a single tap.

Ability to skip signature: To expedite transactions, you can waive the signature requirement for purchases under $25.

I got this app before a garage sale.  It worked awesome and allowed us to accept a $70 payment in the form of a credit card rather than a personal check (not a fan of giving away my stuff via a bounced check).  *you do not “need” the swipe thingy, as I was able to input the cc #’s manually via a simple and easy interface.  If you do this is just charges you 3.25% or something like that*
They ask you allot of questions that are security related when you sign up, presumably to limit those who might be trying to use it for less than honorable professions.  However the whole sign up process was simple and I completed it in one sitting, about 10 min I think.

Anyway, this is getting long, but I just wanted to say that I love this product, you don’t have to be a business to use this, everyone can get one for personal use if they want, and that I have used it and its pretty easy and very awesome!  For personal use I would recommend this to everyone.  For business owners, read the fine print on the web site, but it seems like a good low capitol investment for anyone who is taking payments on the go.

I want one of these but i dont own a business. Why cant i just buy one?

I am pretty sure that you can get one, regardless of whether you have a business. They charge you 2.75% on every transaction, so that is where they make their money. If they really must have a business, tell them you have a lemonade stand you run the last Saturday of every odd month with an overall average temperature of 90 degrees or more (yes, you need to be this specific).

I enjoy you because of your own efforts on this web site. Betty takes pleasure in getting into investigations and it’s really simple to grasp why. All of us learn all regarding the powerful way you render good strategies through your web site and even cause participation from other ones about this idea and our own simple princess is undoubtedly being taught a lot of things. Take pleasure in the rest of the year. You have been carrying out a fabulous job.

That dongle plugged into the headphone jack? That will break off after the first Carne Asada(rat meat) burrito sold.

How dare you, good Carne Asada is awesome.

but yes, it does look a little frail.

      • http://twitter.com/Rocko9999 Rocko Smith

Yes it is. Unfortunately 95% of ‘carne asada’ is bad 70% lean hamburger meat handled by workers who just took a dump and didn’t wash.

        • PyroHoltz

Sadly I think you’re getting your meat from crappy carnicerias.
