And Yet Another Set of DROID Bionic Pictures Appears in the Wild

Shortly after seeing one of the first videos of the DROID Bionic in the wild, we received a brand new set of pictures that take us deeper inside. As you can see from the gallery, the Bionic is still receiving software updates to fix any last minute bugs before the phone is released to the masses on September 8. Also included is a glimpse at potential battery life (down 10% in 3 hours), the About screen (which shows Android 2.3.4), the SIM card/SD stacked slot, and its hotspot app.

Is there anything we don’t know about this phone anymore? Fun, fun.

Half of you idiots that are saying how bad this phone sucks are just gonna run out and get it so just sit back, have nice warm glass of shut the hell up and enjoy the damn phone. Regardless of if it’s better than stuff that is coming out in 5 years or not……IT’S BETTER THAN THE DAMN OG!

Awwww man! Is that another battery door like the Droid 3? I can’t stand removing the back on this Droid 3 – it feels like its going to break in half every time. This looks like almost the same style of door Motorola; it’s just a bad design!!! Stop already!

It’s a highly flexible rubberized plastic. You can bend it in half and it won’t break.

I had another chance yesterday to play with this phone some more yesterday and it is almost awesome. The screen and locked bootloader is the deal breaker for me. I have owned and used just about all the motor droids but I have moved onto the Nexus S so it might be unfair to compare screens. No matter how many fancy animations they slap on blur it will always be blur, slow and a resource hog and it will only be a matter of time before one gets tired of it.

Hopefully this thing gets rooted soon after release and does not take as long as the D3. I doubt that the bootloader will ever get unlocked going by the history of all the other droids besides the original.

I was hoping for a reason to come back to Moto and Verizon but this is not it yet.

Please Moto, use better screens and lets not lock down the devices so much. At the very least please give the users a chance to root D3 so the Bionic has a chance.

You know what i find funny? All the hate on PenTile and sucking on the AMOLED+ teet. Now for the funny part. The industry is moving to PenTile (yes even Samsung). Granted the screens are still developing and it’s not a surprise that with each revision things get a little better, which is why i believe my friend when he tells me the Bionic screen is much better than the DX2. I don’t post here, mainly because there is no point getting into a fanboy/flame fest with people i don’t know, but i just wanted to put this out there for you guys. Hopefully you will do some research and see that PenTile is getting better and will be on more and more devices, including those precious HD screens you all have been pining for.

Almost all screens are pentile, it just depends on what form is used…

i do agree maybe the pentile on the droidx2, which is my device its not as good as the pentile that htc use. They are making it better on every device droid 3 for example and now the droid bionic. They know that pentile saves battery and that is one of the reasons they are going with this technology.

It is a moto, so just because it says 90% it doesn’t mean it is. It could be between 85 and 94%. So it could be better or worse than indicated. Also, the screen was off that entire time, so 3 hours/10% with ZERO usage is a little below par for me. I guess we will see soon enough.
