Root Explorer Only $0.99 at Amazon, Buy It Now If Your Don’t Already Own It

I’m sure that most of our rooted family members already own this app, but if not, now would be the time to grab it.  For just $0.99 (normally $3.00), you can grab Root Explorer, one of the top root-friendly apps of all time.  When we were all just getting our start in the development and ROM game, this was one of those apps that either expedited many processes or saved us from soft-bricking.  It’s a keeper, folks.

Buy.

Not to take anything away from the great work that the people at Root Explorer have done but ES File Explorer does everything I can think of.  Is there something Root Explorer does that I am not aware of?

I precisely needed to say thanks all over again. I’m not certain the things I could possibly have worked on in the absence of the actual techniques revealed by you regarding such question. It became a real frightful case in my opinion, nevertheless coming across a new specialised mode you handled that forced me to leap with joy. I’m just happier for the support and as well , trust you know what a great job you happen to be providing educating the others thru your blog post. Most likely you’ve never met all of us.

um no. I love Root explorer. I would rather pay the larger amount in the regular store then use the Amazon app store. EVER.

ES File Explorer does the exact same thing (root capable) and it’s always been free. Not trying to sound like an advertisement here but it really is worth the time to try it out.

This is still one of my top apps.

There are multiple free alternatives, even if you ignore the developer hostile marketplace that Amazon has.

File Expert is a great FREE alternative. You just have to enable root exploring in the settings. I ended up ditching Root Explorer for FE because of its polished design and quick access toolbar.

    • Anonymous

Exactly. And even better, FE provides wifi access to the SD card, so I don’t have to even connect a cable to the computer, or put it into USB mode, yada yada. HTTP and FTP access FTW.

  • Thracks

ES File Explorer is better and free.

      What’s wrong with buying apps?

Everything. Quit being cheap, it’ll only cost you $1. Pirating super inexpensive mobile apps is so unbelievably retarded. If you don’t want to pay for apps, don’t pay for a smartphone.

What makes this better than a similar program, like Astro?

    • Anonymous

Astro doesn’t allow root permissions, if I’m not mistaken. This comes in handy when renaming bloatware to effectively uninstall it without completely removing it.

I guess the fact that there is a ref id on the buy link and droid life gets a cut :-)

I’d like to know how Amazon figured 75% savings. It looks like about 67% to me. Regardless, it’s a deal I’d take if I didn’t already own the app.

    • Mike

      ( (3.99 – 0.99) / 3.99 ) x 100% = 75.19%

Thanks to you and Queegan, I thought I edited quick enough… LOL

    • Qeegan

      its a misprint … you SAVE 3.00

  • Murphy

…or you can download the equally effective app, “Super Manager”, for the price of FREE :)

    • Anonymous

That’s the one I use, I really like it. No reason for me to pay for any kind of file manager with this app :)

    • http://profiles.google.com/chrisleighton3 Chris Leighton

Another really good one is Ghost Commander. Free, no ads, ridiculously powerful.

    • Anonymous

Does this app have the ability to set permissions like Root explorer does?

      • Murphy

        Yes…you can set R/W permissions.

  • http://bradysewall.com Brady

This is a very good deal, indeed!

My problem with the Amazon app store is: 1) You have to keep the Amazon App Store installed for your apps to work. 2) Developers seem to update the apps in Android Market more frequently than the Amazon App Store. Has anyone else noticed this?

    • Anonymous

thats amazons fault, they are apple app store lite when it comes to appoving things. sometimes it takes a week or more just to approve an update
