My Samsung tablet was purchased in California and when I brought it home to Buffalo the thing just froze. I spent $500 on a giant paper weight and now they are holding off on the update … ugh. What a hung of shit.

Same problem for me. Plus the battery life is just awful. I have to charge almost every day even if I don’t use the tablet.

I just had this happen to me as well. I really didnt think to much about it when it happened but after reading your post here I think you may be right. I powered my tab off the other day and then today I went to turn it on again and it didnt turn on the way it normally does. I then held the power button down for oh say 15 to 20 seconds, which used to take about 3 seconds of holding the power button down. If anything this confirms your suspicion that this is happening because of some problem with the update.

Sorry to hear of the problems. I loaded it hesitantly and now I am very happy that I did. Very pleased with the interface and performance. Hopefully they fix the bug very quickly.

Watching embedded videos on certain sites with the Tab 10.1 are hit or miss. Sometimes, if it isn’t a youtube video that is embedded, the video will play, but the “play” button stays in the center of the video screen. Happens on any Gawker site, like io9, for instance. Sucks that it happens on io9 all the time.

Mind you, this isn’t a new problem because of the update. It’s been doing this all along, regardless of which browser you use.

I just paìd $22.85 for an ìPad 2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her her Canon EOS Rebel Camera that we got for $38.78 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $625 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Since installing the update, I’ve been having problems waking my tab up. I have to hold the power button down for what feels like an eternity before it starts… very frustrating… Not sure if this is a direct result of the update, but I never saw this behavior prior to it.

Whats wrong with the update is the stupid screenshot button and that the mini apps tray is not customizable and disableable (yeah its a word).

Was extremely hesistant to get the update but went ahead anyway. So far it’s fine, no serious issues or noticeable lag.

The only annoyance I’ve encountered is that on the stock browser, using about:debug to disable mobile views of websites actually worked; the new browser still brings up some sites in mobile view, even after I’ve toggled the setting to desktop. Frustrating.
